And abiding in the cultivation of Vipassanā, as well as not abandoning the great aspiration for Bodhi, thereby cultivating Śamatha and Vipassanā. Among them, the so-called "establishment of the designation of Dharma" is because all Dharmas are beyond expression, so it is only nominally established as the teachings of the twelve divisions of scripture. Therefore, in this Sutra, it is said that in order to realize the inexpressible Dharma-nature, one must use nominally established names and concepts. Furthermore, in the Sutra of Repaying Kindness, it is said that although Dharma is inexpressible, the Tathagata, with extremely skillful means, speaks of the nameless and formless Dharma as having names and forms. Also, in the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, it is said that since all Dharmas are of an inexpressible nature, why then is speech used? Answer: Even without speech, it is impossible to indicate and hear this inexpressible Dharma-nature to others, and without language and hearing, it is impossible to understand this inexpressible self-nature. Therefore, speech is used for the sake of hearing and understanding. This is what is to be elucidated. Among them, abiding in the Bodhi aspiration, as stated in the commentary, is as follows: The arising of Bodhicitta is like this: Bodhisattvas generate Bodhicitta, that is, Bodhisattvas abide in the Dharma-nature of Bodhisattvas, in order to benefit the sentient beings of the ten directions of the world, relying on the excellent causes and conditions and power, as well as the images of the excellent noble ones, generating the great vow of unsurpassed Bodhi, thereby receiving the Dharma of generating Bodhicitta, that is, thinking like this: I will definitely attain unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment, thereby completely liberating all sentient beings of the ten directions. In order to be separated from afflictions, and in order to be separated from the truth of suffering. There are also two ways to correctly uphold the generation of Bodhicitta: The first is the conventional generation of Bodhicitta, for example, some people respectfully sit in front of a wise person, generate superior intention, and recite the words of upholding the vow.

Or, should one say with respect, "May the one with life listen"? Or, "May the noble one listen"? Or, "May the Khenpo listen"? I, named so-and-so, from today generate the unsurpassed Bodhicitta. In order to benefit sentient beings, from today onwards, whatever six perfections I (Tibetan: བདག་གིས་) practice, are all for the sake of attaining unsurpassed Bodhi. From today, I will renounce like the Bodhisattvas. May the venerable ones know that I am a Bodhisattva. Like this, say it two or three times. The second is obtained from the nature of reality. For example, after countless eons have passed, the Bodhisattva obtains the first ground, the Joyful Ground. Therefore, the Bodhisattva's aspiration will not regress. This is called the Bodhicitta obtained from the nature of reality. Or, abiding in the aspiration for Bodhi, as stated in the Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom, there are four kinds of answering minds. Therefore, the commentary on the Vajra Cutter of the Sutra of the Perfection of Wisdom, blessed by the qualities of the teacher, says: "How to abide" refers to the nature and fruit in which the mind abides, and what it prays for and seeks. This shows the mind that is in accordance with the four benefits of the Bodhisattva's fruit. What are the four? The first is the boundless mind, as the sutra says: "How many sentient beings should be gathered as sentient beings," and so on. The second is the supreme mind, as the sutra says: "Completely liberated from afflictions, entering into Nirvana without remainder." The third is the mind of complete acceptance, as the sutra says: "Even if immeasurable sentient beings are liberated, no sentient being is truly liberated from afflictions." The fourth is the mind of correct wisdom, as the sutra says: "If one clings to the appearance of sentient beings, one cannot be called a Bodhisattva." The details are as explained in that very text.

In the commentary on the Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra by Pon Yigyen, it is said: "A vast mind, a supreme mind, a constant mind, and an undeluded mind." The term "Mahāyāna" refers to the practice of śamatha and vipaśyanā, which belongs to the two pitakas. It is called Mahāyāna to distinguish it from the Śrāvakayāna pitaka. Because it fully encompasses the ultimate truth, the teachings, the practice, and the results, these are the Mahāyāna of great beings with special abilities, therefore it is called Mahāyāna. The term Mahāyāna is explained in three ways in the Adhimukti Sūtra and the Mahāsamnipāta Sūtra. In the commentary on the Mahāyānasaṃgraha by Asanga, it is explained in seven ways. In the Dvādaśanikāya Śāstra, it is explained as Mahāyāna for six reasons. In the Śīlaskandha Sūtra, the Vasudhāraṇī Sūtra, the Vibhāṣā, the Abhidharmasamuccaya, the Sūtrālaṃkāra, and the Yogācārabhūmi Śāstra, it is explained as Mahāyāna in six and seven ways. The phrase "to practice śamatha and vipaśyanā" means that among the practices of a Bodhisattva, śamatha and vipaśyanā are the most important. Therefore, in the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka Sūtra, it is said: "The Buddha himself abides in the Mahāyāna, and truly attains the Dharma as it is. Adorned with the power of samādhi and wisdom, he benefits all sentient beings." Furthermore, in the commentary on the Ārya Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra, it is said: "For example, if one of the two wheels of a chariot is strong and the other is weak, it will not run smoothly. Similarly, if wisdom and samādhi are not balanced. Therefore, a Bodhisattva should practice both śamatha and vipaśyanā." In the Abhidharmasamuccaya, it is said: "The four extremes are having samādhi without wisdom, and having wisdom
