is the stage of subduing. The first, second, and third grounds are the stages of forbearance of manifest faith. The fourth, fifth, and sixth grounds are the stages of forbearance of those who are tamed and compliant. The seventh, eighth, and ninth grounds are the forbearance of non-arising. The tenth ground and the Buddhas are the forbearance of extreme quiescence, as extensively taught in that very scripture. In the treatise "Exposition of the Accumulation of Enlightenment," it is said that obtaining the forbearance of non-arising is to abide in the immovable ground of a Bodhisattva. Furthermore, in the Sutra of the Bodhisattva Pitaka, when Shariputra was prophesied, it was said, "At that time, I obtained the forbearance of non-arising dharmas." Shariputra, what kind of forbearance of non-arising dharmas did you obtain? It is like this: I obtained the forbearance of all forms being without object. Feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, I obtained the forbearance of being without object. Aggregates, elements, and sense bases, I obtained the forbearance of being without object. Shariputra, the so-called obtaining of forbearance is the very forbearance of dharmas being without object. Why is that? Because when such forbearance is obtained, worldly dharmas do not manifest. Therefore, it is not the dharma of ordinary beings, nor the dharma of learners, nor the dharma of solitary Buddhas, nor the dharma of Bodhisattvas, nor do the dharmas of Buddhas manifest. Why is that? Because all dharmas do not appear, it is said to be the obtaining of forbearance. It is said to be the obtaining of forbearance because all dharmas are without attainment and without object. Furthermore, that forbearance is called forbearance because in a single instant it exhausts all signs and objects. Furthermore, that forbearance does not forbear the eye, nor does it destroy the eye and its objects, therefore it is called forbearance. It does not forbear the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, nor does it destroy the mind. These forbearances are the non-forbearance of the field of activity and the forbearance

Those are called forbearance because they are not objects of action, so it is said. Furthermore, in the Treatise on the Grounds of Yoga Practice, how is the establishment of what is said in the Sutra, "Forbearance of the unborn dharma," like? It is said: It is established from the three natures. That is to say, relying on the nature of the completely imputed, the forbearance of the unborn from the beginning is established. Relying on the nature of the dependent, the forbearance of the unborn is established. Relying on the nature of the perfectly established, the forbearance of the non-arising of defilements of afflictions and suffering is established. It should be known that these forbearances are irreversible. It is said that it also says so in the Treatise on Explanation. Furthermore, in the Treatise on Explanation, it is said that these three forbearances exist on the irreversible ground. It is also said so in the Holy Great Assembly Sutra and the Explanation of the Diamond Cutter of the Perfection of Wisdom, bestowed by the Teacher of Excellence. In the Holy Explanation of the Buddha Ground, it is taught that the eighth ground and above are irreversible grounds. Furthermore, two explanations appear in the Holy Explanation of the Buddha Ground: Some say that the first ground and above have attained the forbearance of the unborn. Some say that the forbearance of the unborn is from the eighth ground and above. It is said that it is widely shown in the same way. Here, the unborn forbearance is said to be combined with the Holy Explanation of the Perfection of Wisdom, and it is shown that the first ground and above have attained the forbearance of the unborn dharma. Combined with the Sutra Requested by the Human King, it is shown that the seventh, eighth, and ninth grounds have attained the unborn forbearance. To distinguish widely, it should be understood as explained in the Holy Explanation of the Buddha Ground. The sixth chapter, the Yoga Distinguishing Chapter, in the Deep Secret Unraveling Sutra. The thirty-fifth volume. The explanation of this chapter can be summarized in two ways: explaining the name of this chapter itself, and the Sutra's...
