Because of being separated, it is called 'free from dust.' Because it is free from latent tendencies, it is called 'free from defilements.' Furthermore, at the time of direct realization, the coarse pride of thinking 'I am' enters into mental activity with interruption, and enters without interruption. If one fully understands the equality of the object of grasping and the grasper, then it will be completely abandoned, and because of abandoning it, it is called 'free from dust.' Because of abandoning all the latent tendencies of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing, it is called 'free from defilements.' It is said that one should understand that there are ten benefits of seeing the Dharma and obtaining the Dharma, as explained in detail in that very text. Fifty billion Sravakas, because the outflows are completely exhausted, their minds are liberated. This is the third benefit of attaining liberation that is taught. Because the outflows are completely abandoned, one will attain wisdom liberation, and because the obscurations of Samadhi are completely abandoned, one will attain mind liberation. Alternatively, because of being separated from the three outflows, it is called 'the outflows are completely exhausted.' Because of being completely separated from desire, one will attain mind liberation. In the Great Commentary (Mahavibhasa), it says: 'The exhaustion of outflows is like this: What is the complete exhaustion of outflows? From the Dharma that follows the outflows, one obtains the name of complete exhaustion.' Why is it only said that the outflows themselves are exhausted? It is said: 'Because they mainly focus on the exhaustion of outflows, one should understand that the Dharma that follows the outflows is also said to be exhausted.' Furthermore, the outflows are difficult to abandon and destroy, and difficult to restore, but the Dharma that follows the outflows is not like that, so only one aspect is mentioned. Furthermore, the faults of the outflows are many and are taught, but the Dharma that follows the outflows is not like that, so only one aspect is mentioned. As explained extensively in that very text, one should understand it as such. In the commentary on the Noble Perfection of Wisdom, it says: 'Because the three types of outflows of the three realms are exhausted, and there is nothing remaining, therefore it is said that the outflows are exhausted.' The explanation of attaining mind liberation is as explained above. How

If someone asks, when teaching this profound Mahayana, will one obtain the benefits of the two vehicles? The answer is: As stated in the commentary on the Noble Perfection of Wisdom, "The teachings spoken by the Tathagata are also of two types: those that are explicitly differentiated and those that are spoken according to intention." Just like that, if it is done according to the way of explicit differentiation, then only the great fruit will be obtained. But here, because it also has the meaning of following intention, the benefits of both great and small are generally proclaimed. Therefore, it is said in the sutra: "The Buddha teaches the Dharma with one voice, and beings understand it individually according to their inclinations." Furthermore, in the Sutra of Immeasurable Meaning, it is said: "The Tathagata teaches the Dharma with one voice, expounding the three wheels of Dharma." Also, in the Sutra of the Great Realm, it is said: "The Tathagata teaches the Dharma with one voice, proclaiming immeasurable sutra treasuries like the ocean." Also, because it is said in this very sutra: "For those who have truly entered all vehicles, this is taught as the definitive meaning." Therefore, even if it is said that hearing this sutra can obtain the fruits of the three vehicles, there is no contradiction. Seventy-five thousand Bodhisattvas obtained the forbearance of non-arising, which is the fourth benefit of proclaiming the attainment of the forbearance of non-arising. This non-arising is also of two types: the first is the attainment of non-arising for the initial Bodhisattva, therefore it is said in the commentary on the Noble Perfection of Wisdom: "There are two types of forbearance: the forbearance of subdued compliance and the forbearance of non-arising." Among these, the forbearance of subdued compliance is for those who abide in the ten dedications. The forbearance of non-arising is from the eighth bhumi onwards, because they have obtained the forbearance of the non-arising of all dharmas. In the Sutra Requested by the King of Men, it is said: "There are five types of forbearance: the forbearance of subjugation, the forbearance of manifest faith, the forbearance of subdued compliance, the forbearance of non-arising, and the forbearance of supreme tranquility." These also correspond in order to the thirty minds before the bhumis.
