That which, having realized as it is, completely eliminates, is precisely the characteristic of the absence of inherent existence. That ultimate reality which is completely distinguished by the absence of inherent existence is called the ultimate reality of the absence of inherent existence. Extensive differentiation should be understood as taught in the treatise established as mere consciousness. Therefore, here, two kinds of absence of inherent existence are thoroughly differentiated. What is said as 'to contemplate' refers to the four kinds of thorough searching. What is said as 'to realize as it is' refers to the four kinds of thorough knowing as they are. Furthermore, thorough differentiation and contemplation are the stages of the four kinds of thorough searching. To realize as it is is the stage of thorough realization from the first ground onwards. From 'one does not cling to the nature of other-powered nature as the characteristic of the nature of the completely imputed nature,' what follows explains the benefits of the two states of abiding on the second ground. This is also divided into six aspects because there are six benefits: completely eliminating the imputed characteristic, not generating the three kinds of causes, preventing the other-powered, abandoning future causes, leading the three kinds of paths, and being free from the three kinds of all afflictions. This is the first. Thus, because the two kinds of absence of inherent existence mentioned above are attained by those abiding on the two grounds, they will not cling to the completely imputed nature. Thus, because it is not completely accustomed to terms, because it is inseparable from the knowledge of terms, and because it is free from the knowledge of the latent consciousness of terms, this is the second, not generating the three kinds of causes. Thus, because there is no clinging, the three kinds of causes do not manifestly arise. Because the causes do not manifestly arise, the three kinds of consciousness will arise. Among them, the three kinds of consciousness are the consciousness that is not completely accustomed to terms, the consciousness that is inseparable from the knowledge of terms, and the consciousness that is free from the latent consciousness of terms. There are also two explanations for those three kinds of consciousness.

There are those who say that not attaining the object is like this: the wisdom attained from subsequent attainment arises by focusing on the three aspects of the object, therefore, what is the establishment of the names of the three wisdoms? Some say that not attaining from the cause is like this: the wisdom of the two kinds of selflessness arises from the three kinds of causes, therefore, what is the establishment of the names as three kinds? "Preventing the characteristic of other-dependence" refers to the third preventing the nature of other-dependence. Like this, since the three kinds of causes are not produced, the three kinds of wisdom will manifestly be accomplished, and by the power of the three kinds of wisdom, other-dependence will be prevented. This is the concluding statement. "By completely grasping with the power of wisdom in the seen phenomena, one also completely abandons the future cause" refers to the fourth, showing the abandonment of the future cause. Like this, since the three kinds of wisdom prevent other-dependence, one will possess wisdom that corresponds to the seen phenomena, and since one is completely grasped by the corresponding wisdom, the root wisdom will completely abandon the future cause. "By that cause and condition, one will truly be weary of all conditioned things, truly be free from attachment, and truly be liberated" refers to the fifth, showing the skillful guidance of the three paths, like this: the corresponding path, the uninterrupted path, and the path of liberation. "One will also be completely liberated from the three kinds of defilements of afflictions, actions, and birth" refers to the sixth, becoming separated from the three kinds of defilements, this sutra itself has already expressed the meaning. Furthermore, sentient beings with the lineage of the authentic noble Hearer vehicle of true meaning can also attain the unsurpassed bliss of Nirvana because of this very path and this place of practice. Sentient beings with the lineage of the Pratyekabuddha vehicle, and sentient beings with the lineage of the Tathagata vehicle, can also attain the unsurpassed bliss of Nirvana because of this very path and this place of practice, from this point onwards is the fourth vehicle, starting from the yoga of the three kinds of selflessness.
