Since each attains Nirvana by relying on the noble path, and because there is no second path, it is said to be one vehicle, but it is not that there is no difference between those three vehicles, this is the concluding remark. In this realm of sentient beings, countless sentient beings, attain Nirvana alone. This is the second, which shows that the individual with a definite lineage attains Nirvana alone. Because there is definitely no seed of the Tathagata's compassion in their continuum, they will never realize the unexcelled Bodhi, as explained above in detail. Those who are brave with great compassion enter Nirvana, those who do not abandon sentient beings are very rare. This is the third, which shows that those with indefinite lineages attain great Nirvana. Because there is Buddha-nature in the continuum of those individuals with indefinite lineages, they can attain the Nirvana of the Buddha through diligent effort, but they do not abandon the work of benefiting sentient beings, so they become endowed with the four wisdoms and ultimately attain Nirvana, but it is very rare for those individuals with definite lineages to attain it, this is the concluding remark. Subtle and inconceivable, the uncontaminated realm, in that liberation, all are equal, so there is no difference, all accomplish meaning, abandon afflictions and suffering, to speak of difference and duality is to rely on bliss. This is the fourth, an explanation of the characteristics of Nirvana. Subtle and inconceivable, the uncontaminated realm, this is to say, the nature of Nirvana. Realm refers to self, because it is the nature of the self of Nirvana, it is subtle and inconceivable. In that liberation, all are equal, so there is no difference, this is to show that the result of Nirvana is the same and without difference. The one suchness has the meaning of having two forms, first, the liberation body is like this: relying on suchness, abandoning afflictions, and attaining liberation, that is called the liberation body. Second, the Dharma body is like this: the Dharma body of the Buddha.

Because it becomes the basis of qualities such as power and fearlessness, it is therefore called Dharmakaya. Among them, Dharmakaya is possessed only by the Tathagata. The Nirmanakaya is said to be without distinction because the three vehicles have no difference, and liberation is equal. Therefore, the Sutra says below: 'Good son, because of the Nirmanakaya, all the Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are equal and the same as the Tathagatas, but for the sake of Dharmakaya, they are particularly superior.' Because the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata has differences, it is said to be the basis of immeasurable and particularly superior qualities.' The Yogacarabhumi-sastra also says: 'The Nirvana without remainder of the three vehicles has no distinction of superior and inferior.' Therefore, the same treatise says: 'Like this, in the realm of Nirvana without remainder, there is no distinction of inferior, medium, and particularly superior, and there is no high or low, good or bad. This is no different from the Tathagata and the Sravaka.' As explained extensively in the same treatise. In 'Sarvarthasiddha' and so on, 'artha' is particularly superior. Like this, in the Suchness nature of Nirvana without remainder, all unconditioned qualities are accomplished, and abandoning the body that becomes the basis of afflictions and suffering, etc., is not the same, so Nirvana with remainder is the temporary abandonment of afflictions. Relying on this Nirvana, there are these two different statements, namely stability and happiness. Like this, because it is free from afflictions, it is said to be stable, and because it is free from suffering, it is said to be happiness. The Yogacarabhumi-sastra also says: 'Because of three meanings, it is called permanent.' Because of two meanings, it is called happiness. Therefore, the same treatise says: 'Why is it called permanent?' It is answered: 'Because Suchness is completely pure and completely separated, because it is not produced by conditions, and there is no birth and death.' What is called happiness?

Should it be said as action, or not as happiness? It is said that it should be said as happiness with ultimate happiness, but not with the happiness of feeling. Why is that? Because it is said that it is because of being completely free from all afflictions and all the sufferings arising from them. Therefore, the treatise "Yogacarabhumi" is taught based on the three meanings of permanence and the two meanings of happiness. Because these two meanings are different, it is said here that they are spoken of as two different things. Thirty-first fascicle. Then, at that time, the Bodhisattva Meaningful Righteousness also said this to the Bhagavan: "O Bhagavan, to what extent do the Buddhas think and speak, even saying that it is extremely subtle, extremely profound, difficult to realize, and extremely joyful to realize? It is wonderful and amazing!" From this point on, it shows the aspect of having understood the fivefold division of the teachings and thus having received the teachings correctly. This also has two aspects: showing that the Bodhisattva has understood, and from "Then the Bhagavan" onwards, the Tathagata encourages practice. The first is also divided into three aspects: praising that the teaching is extremely profound, and from "Thus I" onwards, showing that one has understood it oneself, and from "O Bhagavan, for example" onwards, explaining it repeatedly with examples. This is the first praise that the teaching is extremely profound. This sutra passage also has two aspects: stating the praise in general, and from "subtle" onwards, stating the praise in particular. Among them, subtle, profound, and difficult to realize are, in order, because of the difference beyond the realms of ordinary beings, the two vehicles, and the Bodhisattva. Or, because of transcending beyond the grounds of Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas. Or, because of transcending beyond the realm of activity of the Bodhisattva of the three countless eons, these three names are spoken. Thus, today I, from what the Bhagavan has spoken,
