Therefore. Why are the words spoken by the noble ones not false? They are not false because they thoroughly dispel wrong conceptions. If both the teachings of emptiness and existence thoroughly dispel clinging, why did the Thus-Gone One mostly teach the teachings of emptiness? In this way, most sentient beings cling to existence, and cyclic existence also mostly arises from clinging to existence. Therefore, the Thus-Gone One mostly taught the teachings of emptiness in order to thoroughly dispel clinging to existence and to abandon the suffering of cyclic existence. If both emptiness and existence are doors to the teachings, why was it previously taught that emptiness is the true meaning? It is taught as merely a provisional designation by skillful means, so there is no contradiction. Furthermore, the word "emptiness" negates non-existence and shows the very nature of non-existence, so emptiness is not only existence, but emptiness is also existence. Emptiness eliminates all sentient beings who cling, and all phenomena are also not existent, nor are they emptiness, but it realizes the ultimate true meaning. However, the true nature of all phenomena is not truly the nature of emptiness, because emptiness is a door, so emptiness is taught as merely a provisional designation, so the true meaning is also not emptiness. If emptiness is a door, but the true meaning is not existence, is it reasonable for it to become a door to existence? Because the door is spoken of in accordance with the faculties, there is no fault even if it is said to be existence, but the meaning of the door is in accordance with emptiness, so all that is said to be existent follows the mind of manifest clinging, and all that is said to be empty thoroughly dispels non-true clinging. Therefore, those who have intelligence, after hearing the word emptiness, are also separated from all clinging to existence and non-existence, and understand that the true meaning of phenomena is neither existent nor non-existent, so they do not generate the proliferation of conceptual thoughts of existence and non-existence, as it is taught. The characteristic of the fault of wrongly grasping emptiness is:

As stated in the "Yogacarabhumi-sastra," if one hears some of the profound teachings that are difficult to understand, that possess the Mahayana sutras with profound emptiness, and that reveal the meaning of intention, Without truly understanding the meaning of what is said, and not properly applying the mind, merely with the conceptual thoughts arising from unreasonableness, one thinks that all these are merely conceptualizations, and that this is the only truth. Whoever thinks this way, that is the correct view, they think and speak in this way. According to their view, since even the basis of establishment does not exist, then the establishment itself will not exist in all of everything. Then how could the sole view of mere conceptualization exist? Therefore, from this perspective, they also slander the suchness and the conceptualization itself. Because they slander the conceptualization and the suchness, one should recognize that they are the main figures holding the view of non-existence. Such a person holding the view of non-existence should not be mentioned by those who act equally with Brahma, nor should one associate with them. Because he himself will be destroyed, and whoever inclines towards his view will also be destroyed. The Bhagavan, considering this, therefore said: 'Here, some people are attached to the self, which is still good; some people are wrongly attached to emptiness, which is not so.' Why? Because beings attached to the self are merely confused about the knowable, but do not slander all knowable things. Therefore, beings will not fall into hell because of this, and they will not destroy or deceive those who desire the Dharma and desire to be liberated from suffering. Instead, they will place them in the Dharma and happiness, and will not be negligent in the basis of learning. But those who are wrongly attached to emptiness are both confused about the knowable and slander all knowable things. Therefore, beings will fall into hell because of this, and they will also destroy those who desire the Dharma and desire to be liberated from suffering, and will also be negligent in the basis of learning. Therefore, slandering the things that are as they truly are is even more serious than completely falling away from this Dharma and Vinaya.
