It is shown in accordance with what is said in the Holy Ten Bhumi Sutra. In the commentary on the Holy Ten Bhumi, it says: Because the effort of meditating on the absence of characteristics is perfected, and thus completely transcends the path of both worldly beings and the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, it is called the Far-Going Bhumi. The treatise Ornament of the Sutras says: The Bodhisattva on the seventh bhumi is close to the path of the One Vehicle, therefore it is called the Far-Going Bhumi. If someone asks: Who is the far-goer? The answer is: Because the practice of effort is perfected, he can go far, so he is called the far-goer, therefore it is called the Far-Going Bhumi. The treatise Compendium of the Great Vehicle says: Because it is the end of the conduct arising from practice. The commentary written by Acharya Vasubandhu says: Thus, on this bhumi, the practice of conduct is perfected, and being separated from all characteristics, it is the Immovable, but effort is still needed for the absence of characteristics. The commentary written by Acharya Asanga also shows this in meaning. The commentary on the Ten Abodes says: Because it is far from the three realms and close to the position of the King of Dharma, it is called the Far-Going Bhumi. The treatise Treatise on the Establishment of Consciousness Only says: Because the abiding in the absence of characteristics is perfected, and it is the end of practice, it completely transcends the path of both worldly beings and the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, therefore it is called the Far-Going Bhumi. Because one has obtained non-effort in the absence of characteristics, and is not moved by the afflictions arising from characteristics, therefore the eighth bhumi is called the Immovable Bhumi. The separate explanation of the eighth Immovable Bhumi is completed. Thus, on this bhumi, one is not moved by the afflictions of effort, therefore it is called the Immovable Bhumi. In the commentary on the treatise Compendium of the Great Vehicle, it says when translating the quantity: This sentence of the sutra shows the meaning in three ways. Therefore, this commentary itself says: Because it is not moved by characteristics, afflictions, and effort. Thus, this bhumi has two realms, the first is its own realm, called the absence of characteristics. The Bodhisattva abides in this realm.

Because it is not moved by all appearances and efforts. The second is the realm of conventional truth, which is called all appearances. Because the Bodhisattva abides in that realm and is not moved by all afflictions, it is called the Immovable Ground. The Sutra of the Liberation of Appearances also contains content similar to what is said in this sutra. The Sutra Requested by the King of Men says to cultivate equanimity. Therefore, in the verses of that sutra, it says: The Bodhisattva who cultivates equanimity is the king of the second dhyana, entering fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, liberating all sentient beings. The Noble Golden Light Sutra says that because one has the power to cultivate the non-conceptual mind, one is not moved by the various actions of afflictions, and therefore it is called the Immovable Ground. The extensive explanations should be understood as taught in the Noble Ten Grounds Sutra and the Avatamsaka Sutra, and so on. The commentary on the Noble Ten Grounds Sutra says that because the practice of the ripening sutra is completely purified and there is no obstruction to non-appearance, it is called Immovable. The Treatise Ornament of the Sutras says that the eighth ground is not moved by the perception of appearances and the perception of effortlessness, therefore it is called the Immovable Ground. The Treatise Compendium of the Great Vehicle says that it is because it is not moved by all manifestations of appearances and effort. In the commentary written by Master Vasubandhu, it is said that because in this ground one is not moved by all existing appearances and all manifestations, and one enters naturally with non-discriminating wisdom. The commentary by Master Asanga says that, in this way, because all appearances and all manifestations cannot move his mind, and the seventh ground is not moved by all appearances, although it does not arise universally, it is because one has not obtained the ability to enter naturally and is accompanied by effort. The eighth ground is that one enters naturally and there is no effort of exertion, this is the difference between the seventh and eighth grounds.
