Furthermore, the seventh (bhumi) shows the third bhumi, which has progressed for a long time with the seven limbs. This also has two aspects: showing that the later conduct has not been completely perfected on the sixth bhumi, and showing that one's own conduct is completely perfected. This is the first. Like this, although the sixth bhumi has attained the meditation on dependent origination, it cannot meditate solely on the absence of characteristics like the seventh bhumi. When meditating on the absence of characteristics, it is called uninterrupted because there is no cessation and no stopping. Because it is not interrupted by characteristics, it is called uninterrupted. Therefore, in the treatises that establish only consciousness, the first five bhumis have more meditation with characteristics and less meditation without characteristics. The sixth bhumi has more meditation without characteristics and less meditation with characteristics. The seventh bhumi meditates solely on the absence of characteristics, so with that cause and condition, that limb will not be completely perfected. In order to completely perfect that limb, one strives to meditate, and one will also attain it. These Bodhisattvas, with that cause and condition, that limb is completely perfected, which is called the second, showing the accomplishment of perfecting one's own bhumi. Like this, the Bodhisattva of the seventh bhumi, with the uninterrupted and uninterrupted manifestation of the non-characteristic attention, with that cause and condition, that limb will be completely perfected. In the commentary on the Compendium of the Great Vehicle, translated by Lang, it says that the Bodhisattva of the sixth bhumi has a particularly excellent ability to abandon the subtle arising of the characteristics of conditioned dharmas, but cannot abide for a long time as desired in the uninterrupted and uninterrupted non-characteristic attention. The reason why one cannot abide like this is also because of the three obscurations: the ignorance of the subtle characteristics that arise universally, and the ignorance that solely uses the absence of characteristics as a means. The samsara that manifests from the cause and condition of these two ignorances is called the Vipaka of the evil realms. In order to abandon these three obscurations, one will also accomplish the cause of striving diligently, and again

Having abandoned the three obscurations through diligent effort, one enters the seventh bhumi and will also attain the eight kinds of particularly excellent purity. One will completely abandon the subtle arising of all conditioned dharmas' characteristics. One will also thoroughly realize the meaning of the dharmadhatu, where there is no variety or difference in dharmas. Therefore, through that limb, the seventh bhumi is perfected, as it is said. Regarding dwelling in the absence of characteristics, effort is especially placed in equanimity, and furthermore, one is unable to gain mastery over characteristics, so because of these causes and conditions, that limb is not perfected. Such as this, the eighth limb shows the collection of the immovable bhumi by the eight limbs. This also has two aspects: showing that the practice of the latter limb is not completely perfected for the former, and showing that one accomplishes one's own limb through effort. This is the first. Thus, that bodhisattva of the seventh bhumi is unable to abandon the effort of dwelling in the absence of characteristics, and furthermore, one is unable to gain mastery over characteristics. Because of these causes and conditions, that eighth limb is not perfected. In order to perfect that limb, one strives and meditates, and one will also attain it. These bodhisattvas, because of these causes and conditions, that limb is perfected, this is the second, showing the complete accomplishment of the dharmas of one's own bhumi through effort. Thus, that bodhisattva of the eighth bhumi is able to abandon the effort of dwelling in the absence of characteristics, and furthermore, one is able to gain mastery over characteristics. Because of these causes and conditions, that limb will be perfected. In the commentary on the treatise 'Compendium of the Great Vehicle,' translated by Lang, the bodhisattva, having abandoned the seventh bhumi, does not possess the particularly excellent ability to dwell in the absence of characteristics, and to gain mastery over the characteristics of benefiting oneself and benefiting others. Being unable to do so is also because of the three obscurations: ignorance of dwelling in the absence of characteristics, and ignorance of not having gained mastery over characteristics. The samsara that is manifestly accomplished by these two ignorances is called the maturation of the unfortunate state. In order to abandon these three obscurations, one also accomplishes the cause of diligent effort. Through diligent effort, the three obscurations
