It is said to be called superior intention. The aspects and numerical differences of that superior intention are as the ten kinds of superior intention taught in the Treatise on the Stages of Yogic Practice. Therefore, it is said in that very treatise that when a Bodhisattva first abides on the Joyful Ground, they obtain pure intention through ten kinds of intention. Having the superior intention of not deceiving all teachers, lamas, and alms-givers, and having certainty towards Bodhisattvas who are in accordance with the Dharma; having the intention of being happy in association with them; having the intention of subduing all afflictions and near afflictions, as well as all demonic activities, and being able to control one's own mind; having the intention of seeing fault in all conditioned things; having the intention of seeing benefit in Nirvana; having the intention of always engaging in the practice of virtuous Dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment; having the intention of extreme solitude that is in accordance with that very practice; having the intention of not looking at worldly affairs, as well as all hearing, gain, and respect; having the intention of abandoning the Hinayana and wanting to realize the Mahayana; having the intention of accomplishing the benefit of all sentient beings. These ten undeluded intentions enter the mind, and therefore it is said to be pure intention. Broadly speaking, there are fifteen kinds of superior intention, as taught in the Treatise on the Stages of Yogic Practice. In the commentary on the Summary of the Great Vehicle Treatise by the teacher Asanga, there are eight characteristics of superior intention. The so-called "for the sake of accumulation" refers to the detailed explanation of the two accumulations of merit and wisdom of the grounds of faith practice, etc. The so-called "for the sake of endurance" refers to obtaining the supreme endurance of discriminating the Dharma, which is the supreme of endurance and worldly Dharma. The so-called "for the sake of the object" refers to focusing on the profound and vast Mahayana teachings. The so-called "for the sake of attention" refers to all Dharmas being merely discrimination.

It is the mental activity of wisdom. The reason for being called an antidote is that it refers to non-conceptual wisdom. The reason for being called self-nature is that it refers to the superior intention that makes faith and desire its own nature. The reason for being called a sign is that it refers to the sign of seeing the Buddhas when those in front of the ground and those who dwell on the ground enter into samadhi. The reason for being called benefit is that it refers to approaching Bodhi and effortlessly understanding. Extensive distinctions are explained in the third verse and commentary, and detailed information is as shown therein. In the commentary made by Master Vasubandhu, it is shown by seven aspects, that is, to establish the antidote. The second of these is said to be included by the purity of higher morality, which means that the second ground completely abandons the subtle faults of immoral conduct, dwells on this ground, possesses the morality of self-nature, and does not even engage in small faults of action, let alone medium and large faults. The second ground is included by the completely pure morality, and extensive distinctions are as shown in the "Yogacarabhumi-sastra". Furthermore, the "Yogacarabhumi-sastra" states that on this ground, the four worldly meditations, the four formless attainments, the four immeasurables, and the five superknowledges are accomplished and dwell. Having repeatedly dwelt in these meditations and liberations, as well as samadhi and samapatti, after retreating from these meditations, by the power of aspiration, in the desire realm, wherever one sees the complete accomplishment of benefiting sentient beings in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, one will be born there. From relying on the inner purity of mind and possessing its light, therefore, this place is called the superior mind. Therefore, the third is said to be included by the purity of the superior mind, and extensive distinctions are as shown in the "Yogacarabhumi-sastra". Among them, the superior wisdom
