It is said that it overcomes all characteristics, because it is not known individually and correctly, and cannot be overcome by others. This is the second, repeating and explaining. The characteristic of Suchness cannot be eliminated by others, because it is said that all other characteristics are with characteristics, therefore they will be eliminated by Suchness, and when Suchness manifests, that which manifests Suchness has no characteristics at all, therefore other dharmas cannot completely eliminate this Suchness. This will be shown. What is taught in the Sutra of Immeasurable Meaning as the nature of Suchness is that not taking no-characteristic as a characteristic is called no-characteristic. Among them, not taking no-characteristic as a characteristic means not eliminating no-characteristic. Not taking characteristic as a characteristic of no-characteristic means not completely eliminating no-characteristic itself. As the Bhagavan said, like the example of a container with muddy water, the example of a mirror that is not completely clean, and the example of a turbid lake, one cannot examine the characteristics of other images, but the opposite can. From here onwards is the second, asking and answering separately to examine what is possible and what is not, showing the distinction between what is possible and what is not. This also has two aspects: asking for a request and answering. Asking for a request also has two aspects: stating the examination of the place and asking for a request according to the teaching itself. The first also has two aspects: showing with examples and combining the examples with the meaning, this is the showing. This sentence of the sutra also has two aspects: the example of being able to distinguish and examine and the example of not being able to distinguish and examine. Thus, the Bhagavan, with the example of a container of muddy water, the example of a mirror that is not completely clean, and the example of a turbid lake, said that one cannot separately examine the characteristics of the image of one's own face. In the "Sandhinirmocana Sutra", it is said that an impure container, an impure mirror, and turbid things such as water cannot see the image of the face. Water completely

The analogy of a clear vessel, the analogy of a perfectly clean mirror's face, and the analogy of a perfectly clear lake, these three analogies are shown as analogies for the three wisdoms in order. Although a vessel of perfectly clear water can also show reflections, it is not as good as a mirror, so it is shown as an analogy for the wisdom of listening. A perfectly clean mirror is clear, but because it does not have the nature of clarity, it is shown as an analogy for the wisdom of thinking. The nature of water is peaceful and soft, perfectly clear, and has the nature of being perfectly clean, so it is shown as an analogy for the wisdom of meditation. Alternatively, all three can be shown as analogies for the three wisdoms. Similarly, a mind that has not been well cultivated cannot individually examine all suchness as it is, but a mind that has been well cultivated can. The statement made by the Blessed One, which is the second, combines the analogy and the meaning. In order, when the three wisdoms have not been attained, if the mind is not well cultivated, one cannot individually examine the characteristics of suchness as it is, just as one cannot see one's own face in muddy water, etc.; but one who has cultivated the mind well can individually examine, just as one can see one's own face in perfectly clear water, etc. Then, what kind of discriminating mind is well spoken of, and from what is suchness considered that the Blessed One spoke in this way? This is the second, to request as it is taught. There are two intentions in the request: the first is to ask about the discriminating mind, that is, to ask from what the discriminating mind is considered that it was spoken. The second is to ask about the object to be discriminated, that is, to ask from what suchness is considered that it was spoken. Son of the lineage, here are shown three kinds of discriminating minds, that is, the discriminating mind arising from listening, the discriminating mind arising from thinking, and the discriminating mind arising from meditation.
