Secondly, 'as it sounds' means holding the meaning as the words and syllables are, unlike the two kinds of wisdom that hold the words and syllables by the meaning. Thirdly, 'not yet skilled in the intended meaning' means not yet fully understanding the intended meaning of the noble scriptures. Fourthly, 'not yet manifest' means that when focusing on an object, the similar image is not yet manifest, and samadhi (ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་,梵文天城体:समाधि,梵文罗马拟音:samādhi,汉语字面意思:equanimity) is not yet attained. Fifthly, 'conforming to liberation' means conforming to the liberation of long-term nirvana, or including both conditioned and unconditioned liberation. Sixthly, 'not yet able to truly know the meaning of not yet realizing liberation' means that because cessation is not attained, one dwells in a distracted mind and has not abandoned all bonds. The wisdom arising from thought is only based on words and syllables, and is not 'as it sounds'. Skilled in the intended meaning, not yet manifest, extremely conforming to liberation, not yet able to truly know the meaning of not yet realizing liberation, this is the second explanation of the wisdom arising from thought. Among the six meanings of the wisdom arising from thought, the first, 'based on words and syllables', is the same as what was taught in the context of the wisdom of hearing. Secondly, 'not as it sounds' is because of the difference between definite and indefinite teachings. Thirdly, 'skilled in the intended meaning' means that one has well understood the intended meaning of the noble scriptures. Fourthly, 'not yet manifest' is also the same as what was taught in the context of the wisdom of hearing. Fifthly, 'named extremely conforming to liberation' is superior, because it is superior to the wisdom of hearing. Sixthly, 'named not yet able to truly know the meaning of not yet realizing liberation' is also the same as what was taught in the context of the wisdom of hearing. Thus, this wisdom arising from thought is similar to the previous wisdom of hearing in three meanings, namely the first.

Fourth and sixth. The three meanings are not the same, such as: second, third, and fifth. The wisdom arising from the practice of Bodhisattvas, with respect to abiding in words and not abiding in words, as well as being as it sounds and not being as it sounds, as well as being skilled in hidden meanings, and the image of the object of Samadhi that is in accordance with the objects of knowledge appearing manifestly, being extremely in accordance with liberation, and also individually and correctly knowing the meaning of the actualization of liberation, this is called the third explanation of the wisdom arising from meditation. Among the six meanings, the first, not abiding in words, is like this: because this wisdom arising from meditation focuses on mixed and unmixed dharmas and takes meaning, therefore it abides in words. Because it abandons certain definitive teachings and takes meaning, therefore it does not abide in words. The second meaning, being as it sounds and not being as it sounds, is the same as what was taught in the chapter on wisdom arising from thinking. The third, being skilled in hidden meanings, is also the same as what was taught in the chapter on wisdom arising from thinking, which refers to the four hidden meanings and the four meanings, and so on. The fourth, the image of the object of Samadhi that is in accordance with the objects of knowledge appearing manifestly, is for the sake of attaining Samadhi. The fifth, being extremely in accordance with liberation, is because it is extremely in accordance with the fruit of liberation. The sixth, the meaning of the actualization of liberation also individually and correctly knowing, is like this: this wisdom arising from meditation abides in Samadhi itself, thereby generating direct perception and freedom from outflows, therefore, by abandoning afflictions and actualizing cessation, it does not possess the six meanings. For example, this wisdom arising from meditation, in relation to the coarse wisdom arising from hearing, all six meanings are different. In relation to the previous wisdom arising from meditation, two meanings are the same, such as: second and third. Four meanings are different, such as: first, fourth, fifth, and sixth. From this sutra,
