Thus, the naming is done. This is the first characteristic, like this, the very characteristic of all dharmas. Therefore, from the sutra below: "Truth is like this, whatever is the suchness of dharmas." Because truth itself is the very characteristic. The characteristic of complete knowledge, the characteristic of complete abandonment, the characteristic of manifestation, and the characteristic of cultivation, these four are, in order, showing the characteristics of the four noble truths of suffering, origin, cessation, and path. The very form of the very characteristic and so on, called the characteristic of detailed distinction, this onwards is the sixth characteristic. This is because each of the five characteristics shown earlier has many differences in the form of categories of meaning. The characteristic of place and place being closely related is the seventh characteristic. In the treatise "Detailed Explanation" it says: "The characteristic of place and place being closely related is like this: the great elements are the place, and the forms that are made into causes are the place. Or, the eye and so on are the place, and the consciousness of the eye and so on is the place. Or, what is to be said is the place, and what is said is the place, and whatever relationship there is between each other, that is called the characteristic of being closely related." The characteristic of the dharma that separates between complete knowledge and so on is the eighth characteristic. Whatever afflictions are to be abandoned by the four noble truths, that is called the characteristic of the dharma that separates. If combined with the sutra words shown below, it is like this: whatever is the completely afflicted dharma that separates the cultivation of the dharma of the aspects of enlightenment, that is called the characteristic of the dharma that separates it. The characteristic of the dharma that is in accordance with them is the ninth characteristic. Whatever wisdom the four noble truths use to abandon afflictions, that is called the characteristic of the dharma that is in accordance with them. If combined with the sutra words shown below, it is whatever dharma there is that does many deeds for them

It is called the characteristic of the Dharma that is in accordance with it. The characteristics of not knowing completely, etc., and faults and virtues, are called the tenth characteristic. Thus, there are faults in not knowing completely, etc., and virtues in knowing completely, etc., which are well distinguished. Therefore, it is said in the sutra below: The characteristic of their faults should be understood as the faults of those obstructive dharmas as many as there are. The characteristic of their benefits should be understood as the virtues of those conforming dharmas as many as there are. In other categories of explanations, whatever explains the Four Noble Truths is called the characteristic of suchness. Therefore, it is said in the Yogacarabhumi-sastra that the first is the characteristic of truth. The names of the other nine characteristics are consistent with what is said in this sutra. The Truth of Suffering is called the characteristic of complete knowledge. The Truth of Origin is called the characteristic of permanent abandonment. The Truth of Cessation is called the characteristic of manifestation. The Truth of the Path is called the characteristic of cultivation. The division of the Truth into sixteen aspects is called the characteristic of distinguishing the aspects of suchness, etc. The cause is the origin, the result is suffering, the cause is the path, and the result is cessation. Whatever meaning is consistent with each other is called the characteristic of the relationship between place and place. Among them, the cause is called place. The result is called place. Whatever explains the Dharma of the place of the Four Noble Truths is called the characteristic of the Dharma that obstructs complete knowledge, etc. The category of good distinction, etc., is called the characteristic of the Dharma that conforms to them. The faults of affliction and the merits of complete knowledge are called the characteristics of complete knowledge, etc., and the faults and merits of complete knowledge, etc. In the Abhidharmasamuccaya, based on the sutra of tasting flavors, ten characteristics are established.
