Thus it is said. The fourth is that the eight consciousnesses of the Yogachara Bhumi are like illusionists, thus it is said. The four crossroads of the path also have three aspects. The first is derived from a single scripture, and the fourth truth that transcends various scriptures is like the four crossroads of the path, thus it is said. The second is that the four mindfulnesses from various scriptures and so on are called the four crossroads of the path, thus it is said. The third is that the four places of consciousness in the Yogachara Bhumi are called the four crossroads of the path, thus it is said. The phrase "grass, leaves, wood, tiles, and gravel, etc., gathered together" indicates the basis, that is, the analogy of the place where the seeds accumulated from the Alaya consciousness reside. Alternatively, the three completely ripened ones exist on the Alaya, among which the grass and leaves, which are not coarse, are an analogy of the accumulation of virtue. The aspect of accumulating wood and tiles, etc., is an analogy of the seeds of non-virtue. The phrase "various activities of illusion" refers to the general indication of the objects of illusion. Just as illusions arise from the power of grass and leaves, etc., so too do fruits arise from the power of seeds of virtue and non-virtue. For example, indicating elephant herds, horse herds, chariot herds, infantry herds, jewels, pearls, beryl, smoke, manjas, coral, wealth, various grains, houses, and storehouses, etc., this refers to the second, which is to separately indicate the objects of illusion, indicating the name. Above, the various activities of illusion were only briefly indicated, because there was no separate indication, so there is no separate explanation here. In the explanation of the Acharya's True Reasoning, the four armies are an analogy of cause and condition. Jewels, etc., are an analogy of the fruit, because jewels, etc., are manifestly accomplished by the power of the four armies. Alternatively, the four armies are an analogy of the aspect of sentient beings. Jewels, etc., are an analogy of non-sentient beings. That is to say, the Khenpo of the Alaya consciousness and

The students of the seven consciousnesses abide in the four abodes of consciousness. By accumulating the seeds of names and terms, various groups of beings, such as those in the three realms, the five destinies, and the four types of birth, as well as non-sentient beings, will arise. Those who are deluded before the ground cling to the illusion that various conditioned and unconditioned dharmas truly exist. Those who have realized the ground understand that these are like illusions and know that dharmas do not truly exist. It will be taught that the teachings are condensed from illusions. The Four Noble Truths and so on are said to be at the crossroads of the path. The term "illusionist" has three aspects: First, one is called an illusionist because they manifestly create illusions, which are afflictions and karma. Second, one is called an illusionist because they know things to be like illusions, which refers to Bodhisattvas. Third, one is called an illusionist because they are the master who creates illusions, which refers to the eight consciousnesses. Here, it is connected with the third. Alternatively, it can be connected with afflictions and karma in a minor way. Alternatively, there is no contradiction in connecting it with all three. The term "crossroads of the path" is also explained in three ways: First, the crossroads of the path for abandoning afflictions are the Four Noble Truths. Second, the path to be examined by beginners is the four establishments of mindfulness. Third, the path where the master of illusion abides is the four abodes of consciousness. Here, it is connected with the third.

This is the teaching about those who are attached. Ordinary people regard the five aggregates as names. In the "Teacher's True Memorandum," it says: The so-called "ordinary people" refers to ordinary people who view things like children, that is, those who have great desires. The so-called "nature of perverse wisdom" refers to ordinary people with sharp wisdom, who are able to generate the views of non-Buddhists. Here, the word "child" refers to the essence of ignorance. The so-called "delusion" refers to the power of delusion, which is the basis for generating attachment. The so-called "perverse wisdom" refers to the nature of attachment, that is, the many views. The so-called "ignorant ones" refers to the power of perverse wisdom, which shows that due to the influence of delusion, there is attachment to the real, conditioned, and unconditioned things. The so-called "grass, leaves, trees, rubble, and many fragments, etc., and illusory and manifested objects" refers to the second object of attachment. Grass and leaves, etc., are used as examples of virtuous and non-virtuous actions. Manifested and illusory objects are used as examples of the ripening of karmic results. Or, they are objects of various forms that arise from consciousness. If one sees or hears, one thinks like this: "Whatever appears as a multitude of elephants is truly existent." Cavalry, chariots, infantry, jewels, pearls, lapis lazuli, conch shells, agate, coral, wealth, various grains, houses, and storehouses, etc., whatever appears, one thinks is truly existent. This shows the third way in which attachment arises, that is, due to the influence of the view of conceptualization arising from ignorance, one clings to things like elephants as truly existent. In the "Teacher's True Memorandum," it says: "Seeing" refers to what one sees with one's own eyes, which is used as an example of a magician, that is, those ordinary people with sharp wisdom. "Hearing" refers to what one hears from others. This
