It is said that the second chapter is called "The Chapter on Characteristics." Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, who is well-versed in the proper way, in the presence of the Bhagavan, asked questions about the profound meaning of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva's definitive explanation, etc., thus showing that the second chapter is the correct explanation of the meaning of the words of the sutra. Before that, it has been explained that the aspect of the cause and condition of the arising of the teachings has been explained, and from this point onwards, the second aspect, which is the aspect of correctly showing the holy teachings, is shown. This aspect has seven chapters, which can also be summarized into three types. Among them, the first four chapters show the object to be fully investigated in the place of yoga practice, namely, the chapter on the characteristics of the ultimate truth, the chapter on the characteristics of mind, intellect, and consciousness, the chapter on the characteristics of all dharmas, and the chapter on the characteristics of selflessness. The following two chapters show the path of the yogi, namely, the chapter on the differentiation of yoga and the chapter on the grounds and perfections. The last one shows the fruit to be obtained, namely, the chapter on the accomplishment of the deeds of the Tathagata. Thus, the three aspects are shown in this way: the yogis rely on the holy object to generate practice, and by the power of practice, they obtain the fruit. Therefore, the Bhagavan, in the Sutra of the Great Vehicle of the Abhidharma Treasury, spoke of thirteen kinds of particularly excellent scriptures. Among them, the first two show the object, namely, the place of knowledge and the characteristics of knowledge. The middle six are practice, namely, entering into the characteristics of knowledge, entering into cause and effect, the differentiation of meditation, the training in higher morality, the training in higher concentration, and the training in higher wisdom. The last two are the fruit, namely, the abandonment of that fruit and its fruit. Therefore, the teacher Asanga, in his commentary on the Compendium of the Great Vehicle, said that based on the three incomparable aspects, the ten kinds of excellent teachings are shown. Holy

The seventeen grounds spoken of by Maitreya also distinguish these three. The first ground is the teaching of the realm of causes, namely the ground associated with the five aggregates of consciousness, the ground of mind, the ground with conceptualization and examination, the ground without conceptualization but with examination, the ground without conceptualization and without examination, the ground of meditative equipoise, the ground of non-meditative equipoise, the ground with mind, and the ground without mind. The middle six grounds are the teaching of the realm of practice, namely the ground arising from hearing, the ground arising from thinking, the ground arising from meditation, the ground of the Hearer, the ground of the Solitary Buddha, and the ground of the Bodhisattva. The last two grounds are the teaching of the realm of result, namely the ground with remainder and the ground without remainder. In this sutra also, the three aspects of unequaledness are similarly taught in three ways. Among them, the realm that is completely examined by the Yogacara school is also divided into two. The first two chapters teach the realm of the ultimate and the conventional, wherein the chapter on the nature of the ultimate truth teaches the ultimate truth, and the chapter on the nature of mind, intellect, and consciousness teaches the conventional truth. The latter two chapters teach the realm of the nature of existence and non-existence, wherein the first chapter teaches the realm of the three natures, and the latter chapter teaches the realm of the three non-natures. In teaching the two truths, the ultimate is taught first in the order of root and branches, and then the conventional is taught after that. Therefore, here the ultimate truth is explained. If it is connected with the Yogacarabhumi, from there, this one chapter is taught with five names. Therefore, apart from that itself, the ultimate truth has five characteristics, namely the characteristic of being inexpressible, the characteristic of being non-dual, the characteristic of being completely beyond the realm of speculation, the characteristic of being completely beyond the nature of things being different and not different, and the characteristic of being of one taste in all. Here, those words of the sutra are also summarized into four types, namely inexpressible.
