Therefore, they are called "Buddha's sons." As it is said, "All are born from the words of the Bhagavan, because they are born from the true Dharma." Some say that all are Shravakas who are inclined towards the Mahayana, and they are called "Buddha's sons" because they continue the lineage of the Tathagatas without interruption. Secondly, it is said that the Buddha's sons are Bodhisattvas. In one of the different commentaries on the Mahayana-samgraha, it is said that the name "Buddha's son" has five meanings: because of great devotion to the unsurpassed vehicle, it is the seed; wisdom is not the mother; samadhi is the womb; great compassion is the nurse; and the Buddhas are the father. As it is said. In the commentary on the True Reality by the teacher, it is said that when the body of a sentient being is manifestly accomplished, five things must be perfectly complete without hindrance: father, seed, mother, place of the womb, and nurse. The father is the basis for producing the son, so it is mentioned first. The father's semen becomes the seed of the body, so the second seed is mentioned. Without a mother, it cannot be held, so the body cannot be accomplished, so the third mother is mentioned. Even if it is held by the mother, if the womb does not bless it, the body cannot be accomplished. The womb is the support for the body to dwell in, so the fourth place of the womb is mentioned. If the nurse does not nourish it after birth, the body cannot be accomplished, so the fifth nurse is mentioned. Similarly, the name "Buddha's son" also requires five special conditions: the first is the supreme father, because the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are the father. The second is the supreme seed, such as the mind of enlightenment being the seed. The third is the supreme mother who gives birth, because wisdom does not act as the mother who gives birth. The fourth is the supreme essence of the womb, because it is held by merit and wisdom and acts as the essence of the womb. The fifth is the supreme nurse, because great compassion nourishes and acts as the nurse. As it is said. The third is

From the perspective of both Bodhisattvas and Shravakas, they are called the sons of the Buddha. As stated in the commentary on the Prajñāpāramitā, there are five types of Buddha-sons: all are born from speech, born from Dharma. For example, from the Stream-enterer to the Arhat, and the Bodhisattvas who are in the correct state. Although Pratyekabuddhas plant the causes and conditions within the Buddha's Dharma, they are not called born from speech because they realize the path themselves when the Buddha does not appear in the world, as the causes and conditions are distant. The meaning of the Buddha-son is extensively explained in the Ornament of the Sutras, the Treatise on the Buddha-Nature, the Compendium of the Mahayana, the Ten Bhumis Sutra, the commentary on the Prajñāpāramitā, and the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra. Due to the length, it is not elaborated here. The phrase "mind is extremely liberated, wisdom is extremely liberated" refers to the third merit of the liberation of mind and wisdom. As the sutra says, "Thus, because of being free from attachment, one will attain the liberation of mind; because of being free from ignorance, one will attain the liberation of wisdom." The interpretation of this sutra passage also varies. The Vaibhāṣikas believe that the nature of the mind is inherently pure, and it is said to be impure because it is not tainted by the sudden arising of afflictions. For the true meaning, mind and wisdom are inherently liberated. The Sarvāstivādins believe that when the mind is free from attachment, the adhimoksha (conviction) that is in accordance with the mind is liberated from attachment, therefore that adhimoksha itself is called the liberation of mind. When wisdom is free from ignorance, the adhimoksha that is in accordance with wisdom is liberated from ignorance, therefore that adhimoksha itself is called the liberation of wisdom. But it does not refer to the unconditioned and Nirvana as liberation. The Sautrāntikas believe that it comes from the ten perceptions explained in the Establishment of Thatness Treatise.

Because of completely separating from ignorance, one will attain the liberation of wisdom. Because of being free from desire, one will attain the liberation of mind. Here, if combined with the Mahayana treatises, in the commentary on the Buddha-bhūmi it says: The mind is completely liberated because it is liberated from the desire of the three realms. As it is said, the mind free from desire will attain liberation, like this. Wisdom is completely liberated because it is liberated from all afflictive ignorance. As it is said, with the cessation of ignorance, wisdom will attain liberation, like this it appears. Among them, the so-called "like explanation" tends towards what is said in the sutras. The intention of the Buddha-bhūmi commentary is that by the power of mind and wisdom, one will attain freedom from desire and freedom from delusion. The unconditioned attained thereby, because it is the nature of liberation, is not contradictory to reason. Because it is not distinguished in the treatises, it will be explained. In the commentary on the Prajñāpāramitā, it says: Afflictions belong to desire and views. Afflictions belonging to desire obscure the mind, and afflictions belonging to views obscure wisdom. Thus, because of being free from desire, one is free from afflictions belonging to desire. Because of being free from ignorance, one is free from afflictions belonging to views, therefore one will attain the liberation of wisdom, like this it appears, as explained extensively in that very text. In the Noble Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra it says: Because the minds of desire, hatred, and delusion are permanently ceased, the mind will attain complete liberation. Because there is no obstruction to all dharmas, wisdom will attain complete liberation. In the commentary on the Prajñāpāramitā, it says: The word "very" is translated as "excellent," and that excellent liberation is also of three kinds: The first is to distinguish from individuals because of being free from the desire of non-Buddhists, those who share the same dwelling
