Praising the happiness and splendor of the Buddha-fields, and as an antidote to severing pride, especially praising the perfection of the Buddhas; as an antidote to severing regret, although those sentient beings who harmed the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas were despised, it was said that they would be born in the heavens; as an antidote to those of uncertain lineage, in order to abandon the inferior aspiration of the Hearers, it was prophesied that even those great Hearers would become Buddhas; furthermore, it was said that the vehicle is only one, and that there is nothing more excellent than that. Like that. The hidden intention in translation is like what is said in the Sutras in the manner of chapters, as it is said: 'Knowing the meaningless as meaningful, abiding greatly in the inverted, extremely afflicted among afflictions, the Bodhisattva will be attained.' Like that. The intention here is that for distraction, whatever arises as the thought of essence and supreme. Why is that? Because the term essence has two meanings: subtle and scattered and wavering. Like this, because of the power of being scattered and wavering, the mind becomes hard and reckless, therefore it is also called essence. 'Abiding greatly in the inverted' is like this: inverting the four inversions of clinging to permanence, pleasure, purity, and self, it becomes impermanence and so on, therefore it is called inverted. Since it does not degenerate from that, it is called 'abiding greatly.' 'Extremely afflicted among afflictions' is like this: because one becomes extremely tired and afflicted by striving with effort after enduring hardship for a long time. 'The supreme Bodhi will be attained' is like this: whoever possesses the three things as shown above, will surely quickly attain unsurpassed Bodhi. It is said in this Sutra that the hidden intention spoken of is that the Bhagavan in many ways proclaimed that the thirteen doors of the Dharma, such as the aggregates, all have their own characteristics, like that.

, this is a flexible consideration made in terms of application among the four ways. Furthermore, whatever the Blessed One said about all phenomena being without inherent existence, without arising, without ceasing, and so forth, that is a flexible consideration made in terms of characteristics among the four ways. In the commentary on the Compendium on the Great Vehicle composed by Master Vasubandhu and Anātmya (ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་མེད་, 無自性), it says: it shows the flexible consideration made in terms of characteristics by relying on the three aspects of inherent existence. In the treatises Abhidharmasamuccaya and Sūtrālaṃkāra, it says: whatever is shown as being without arising, etc., by relying on the three aspects of non-inherent existence, that is shown as a flexible consideration made in terms of characteristics. Therefore, the treatises Abhidharmasamuccaya and Sūtrālaṃkāra themselves are in accordance with the words of the sutras. Furthermore, in the realm of the ultimate truth of noble sentient beings, because sentient beings see the self-nature of the completely imputed as being different from self-nature, and the self-nature of the dependent arising and the self-nature of the thoroughly established as being different from self-nature, therefore, "I do not establish non-inherent existence itself as three"—from this point onwards, it is the second, starting from the yoga of the three aspects of self-nature, explaining the intention of establishing the three aspects of non-inherent existence. This also has two aspects: explaining through inconsistent explanations, and from the word "however" onwards, explaining through consistent explanations. This is the first, where "seeing" means observing or separately examining. That is to say, in this way, sentient beings are not established as three aspects of self-nature in order to completely eliminate these three aspects of self-nature in order. Why is that? Because merely by means of the characteristic of non-inherent existence, the completely imputed cannot be completely eliminated, and the other two also eliminate the attachment to appearances. The latter two non-inherent existences themselves are not established after eliminating the dependent arising and the thoroughly established, because the dependent arising and the thoroughly established cannot be completely eliminated. This will be explained. Furthermore, some say that the intention here is...
