Having thoroughly sought the three natures, one establishes the three non-natures. For example, having sought the nature of the completely conceptualized, one establishes the absence of characteristics of the completely conceptualized. Having completely sought the nature of the dependent, one establishes the non-arising of the nature of the dependent. Having sought the nature of the perfectly established, one establishes the non-nature of the perfectly established, as it is said. The teacher Bhāvaviveka and the Vaibhāṣikas also consider the three natures to be the gateway to establishing the truth, but the meaning of the three non-natures is not an establishment. Therefore, like the teacher Bhāvaviveka, after thoroughly seeking, it is not an establishment. The second view is that only two natures are sought, and the perfectly established nature is not sought, because things born from causes and conditions are emptiness. The third view is that only the completely conceptualized is sought, and the two natures are not sought, such as the Yogācārabhūmi. Although there are such three views, the latter view is not correct, because it is consistent with the words of this sutra and the meaning is not contradictory. If asked: Are there profound and non-profound aspects to the three wheels of Dharma? There are two views. The first is that the teacher Bhāvaviveka and others say: The first turning of the four noble truths is the scripture of the Śrāvakas, because it only shows that sentient beings are empty, and does not show that phenomena are empty, therefore it is not profound. The second is the Mahāyāna with characteristics, such as the Ārya Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra, which shows the three natures and so on, and has an object, therefore it is not very profound. The third is the Mahāyāna without characteristics, such as the Prajñāpāramitā, which shows that all phenomena are empty, and has no object, therefore it is very profound. The second is that the teacher Dharmapāla and others rely on the sutras and say: First, the four noble truths were shown, then the absence of characteristics was shown, and finally, the definitive meaning was shown. The meaning of the wheel of Dharma of the four noble truths is

As previously stated. The latter two wheels of Dharma teach the absence of characteristics, so it cannot be said whether they are profound or not in meaning. The reason why the two kinds of scriptures are called "not definitive" is that the absence of self-nature also has three aspects, and because the reasoning of absence is clearly and thoroughly explained, it is called "definitive meaning." Because all dharmas, such as the absence of self-nature, are taught in a secret manner, it is said to be "non-definitive meaning." It is not because the meaning is profound or not profound that it is called definitive or non-definitive. Among the three kinds of self-nature, what kind of self-nature is sought, and why is it called "absence of characteristics"? There are two kinds of explanations. If it is combined with the explanation of Master Dharmapala, it is because only the completely imputed is sought. If it is combined with the explanation of Master Bhāviveka, it is because only the dependent nature is sought. As it appears in the very extensive commentary on the Hundred Treatises. Master Dharmapala establishes the doctrine, and what arises from the explanation is that the self-nature of the completely imputed dharma is non-existent. The self-nature that arises from causes and conditions is existent. In order to accomplish this meaning, the source from the sutras is shown: "The completely imputed are all non-existent, the dependent nature is truly existent, if the untrue completely imputed is destroyed, one will fall into the extremes of addition and subtraction." Thus it is said. Thus it is said. Master Bhāviveka examines and says: In this sutra, the name is the completely imputed, and the meaning is the dependent nature. The name is non-existent because it is not existent in the meaning, and the meaning is existent because it is not non-existent in the world. Because it is said in this way, it is unreasonable that this reasoning summarizes the dependent nature as existent. Master Dharmapala says: This explanation is unreasonable, because it contradicts the meaning. If the name is non-existent because it is not existent in the meaning, and the meaning is also non-existent in the name, how can it become existent? If the self-nature of the unreal conceptualization that expresses is non-existent, what is the self-nature of the unreal conceptualization that is to be expressed?
