Consciousness arises, and the eye consciousness follows together with the mind consciousness, simultaneously and in the same realm. The discriminating mind consciousness also ceases, and so on. This is the second time the key points are repeated and explained. This can be divided into two types: one is the explanation that eye consciousness inevitably runs together with mind consciousness; the other is the explanation that the other four consciousnesses are together with mind consciousness. This is the first, that is, the word "that." If combined with the reasoning of the treatises, there are two meanings: one is the meaning of stating and initiating discussion; the other is the meaning of completely affirming after excluding objections. It has been briefly said above that "consciousness runs together," but since it has not been distinguished that the five inevitably rely on mind consciousness, and mind consciousness does not rely on the five, the word "that" is spoken here in order to initiate discussion. In addition, when explaining running together, there are many meanings that are not fully explained at once. In order to exclude other meanings and fully explain this meaning, the word "that" is also spoken. The so-called "eye with consciousness" means that there are two types of eyes: the eye with consciousness is called the similar eye. The eye without consciousness is called the eye similar to it, and what is distinguished from the eye similar to it is the eye with consciousness. The similar support and the support similar to it are also described differently in different teachings. The Sarvastivadins believe that, starting from the eighteen realms, the similar support and the meaning of its similar support are explained. For example, in the eighteen realms, what has the power of karma is called the similar support. What does not have the power of karma is called the support similar to it. Therefore, in the Abhidharmakosha, it is said: Are the two similar supports, and are the two its similar supports? The Compendium of Verses says: Dharma is with support, and the other two do not perform their own karma. Here it says that in the explanation of this treatise, one dharma realm is the only similar support.

Thus. This means: the defiled mind of the noble ones. Since all dharmadhatu is the object of consciousness, it is also said in the Great Vibhasha Shastra that there is no dharma that is not included in the three times, because it is the object of consciousness. See the explanation in that treatise for details. If it is said that all seventeen realms are objects of consciousness, so their dependence is the same, but their dependence is not the same. The answer is: the seventeen realms are not established as having different dependencies based on consciousness, but are explained based on the mutual dependence of their respective faculties and objects. For example, the eye faculty depends on the object of form, and the object of form depends on the eye faculty, up to the body faculty depending on the object of touch, and the object of touch depending on the body faculty. If this is the case, then the mind realm only depends on the dharmadhatu and its dependence is the same. If the meaning of the variation of establishing that dependence as the same is established, then would the objects of the other seventeen realms all become non-dependent and the same? Although it should be like that, the mind realm and the consciousness realm can include all dharmas and can understand them, so they establish the same dependence based on their own function. Just as the eye and other faculties have the ability to see, etc., they definitely do not establish the same dependence. Some other teachers say: the dharmadhatu includes all dharmas, so the seventeen realms are also called dharmas. It should not be said like that. Although they are the same in the name of dharma, the dharmadhatu is different. Therefore, what was said earlier is very reasonable. Thus, the other seventeen realms also have the same dependence and that same dependence. What is the same dependence and that same dependence? Thus, abiding in one's own karma and doing one's own karma is called the same dependence. Not doing one's own karma is called that same dependence. Thus, the eye realm can see, can observe, can become an observation
