Nor is it part of the final teaching that remains, because this statement is placed here, so saying this is not in accordance with this sutra. The last sentence of the sutra is obvious praise, because the noble Manjushri appears last. In the Sutra Unraveling the Profound Meaning, it says: The Dharma spoken by the Thus-gone One, all is of one taste and nature, in the ultimate truth there is no difference, seeing difference is arrogance. It appears in the text. In the Sutra Explaining the Definitive Meaning, there are two verses, therefore it says: The nature of Dharma is of one taste, the Buddhas speak of equality, whoever grasps difference in this, that is an arrogant person. The cause of samsara is incompatible, extremely subtle and difficult to see, obscured by desire, hatred, and ignorance, those with views cannot realize it. It appears in the text. In the Sutra Unraveling the Profound Meaning, the chapter on the nature of mind, intellect, and consciousness, the third chapter. Volume nineteen, one explanation of this chapter is also expressed in two ways: the explanation of the name of this chapter itself, and the explanation of this sentence of the sutra. Among them, the nature of mind, intellect, and consciousness, refers to the names of mind, intellect, and consciousness also having common and individual aspects. In the treatises of the Consciousness-only school, it is like this: The Blessed One said in these sutras that mind, intellect, and consciousness have three different meanings, accumulating is mind, thinking is intellect, distinguishing is consciousness, these are three different meanings. Like this, these three meanings can also be summarized into the eight consciousnesses, but if we follow the main one, the alaya consciousness is called mind, because it accumulates the seeds of all dharmas and causes the dharmas to arise. The afflicted mind is called afflicted intellect, because it focuses on the eight consciousnesses, constantly thinks, and becomes the nature of self and so on. The other six consciousnesses are called consciousness, because they roughly move towards the six different objects and have intervals.

Because it enters through discernment. Among these, the so-called "nature" refers to the nature of self-essence or the nature of form. The meaning of the chapter itself is as previously explained. Although there are two doors, the text of this chapter reveals three meanings of the general name. Therefore, here, the primary is taken as the main focus, and thus the eighth is shown. Alternatively, here, three meanings of the specific name will be shown. Although there are two such explanations, the former explanation is better. Therefore, it is said to be the chapter on the nature of mind, intellect, and consciousness. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Wide Intellect addressed the Blessed One as follows: Blessed One, as the Blessed One said, the Bodhisattva who is skilled in the secrets of mind, intellect, and consciousness, from this point onward, what is to be fully examined is shown from the two truths of ultimate truth and conventional truth. Before that, the ultimate truth has already been explained, and now from this point onward, the conventional truth will be shown. This is also shown in two ways: explained extensively with single sentences, and shown briefly with verses. The extensive explanation is also divided into two: asking and answering correctly as asked. Asking is also divided into two: merely stating the teaching of the request, and requesting based on the teaching, this is the first. Among these, the so-called Bodhisattva Wide Intellect is named from wisdom. As the teacher Yandak Dhenpai Drejang said in the True Memorandum: Wide Intellect expounded the Dharma in front of the Blessed One, and among those who expound the Dharma, other Bodhisattvas do not possess such qualities as Wide Intellect, this Bodhisattva is named from the Dharma gate of Wide Intellect. In the commentary on the Noble Buddha Land, it says: Because it is profound and vast and complete, and very thoroughly understood, it is called Wide Intellect. In the commentary on the Noble Perfection of Wisdom, it says:

occurred, and because there is nothing that is not known about the statements of householders and the various topics related to them, it is said to be vast in wisdom. In the treatise *Yogācārabhūmi*, it says, 'Wisdom itself is immeasurable, and because it is the field of limitless activity, it is called vast in wisdom.' Thus, the Blessed One completely understood the secret meaning of mind, intellect, and consciousness, and therefore he is called a wise Bodhisattva. If we call the secret of mind, intellect, and consciousness a wise Bodhisattva, then to what extent can we call the secret of mind, intellect, and consciousness a wise Bodhisattva? To what extent does the Tathāgata designate them as Bodhisattvas who are skilled in the secret of mind, intellect, and consciousness? This is the request, which refers to the request made starting from the second teaching. This sutra passage can also be divided into two types: one is the statement of what is being asked, and the part from 'to what extent' onwards states the words of what is being asked. This request also contains two intentions: the first is 'to what extent can we call the secret of mind, intellect, and consciousness a wise Bodhisattva?', which is asking about the state of a Bodhisattva, which is the meaning spoken of in the teaching. The second is 'to what extent does the Tathāgata designate them as Bodhisattvas who are skilled in the secret of mind, intellect, and consciousness?', which means, from what kind of Bodhisattvas does the Tathāgata begin to teach closely? Here, 'teaching closely' means detailed explanation. Then, the Blessed One spoke to the great Bodhisattva Vast Wisdom. From 'Excellent! Excellent!' onwards, it indicates that the second question has been answered correctly. This is also shown in two ways: one is praising and explaining the request that was made, and the part from 'Vast Wisdom should be understood in this way' onwards accurately shows the answer to the question that was asked.
