Because there are branching dharmas, they should be connected in order. Therefore, Subhuti, even if you understand the reasoning, you should realize that the ultimate truth is the characteristic of oneness in all things, which is called the second part, the conclusion, which is just a conjunction. Subhuti, how do these aggregates become mutually distinct characteristics? How are the ayatanas? How is dependent origination? How is food? How are the truths and realms? How are the mindfulnesses? How are the right abandonments? How are the miraculous feet? How are the faculties? How are the powers? How are the branches of enlightenment? How are the branches of the path? How do these become mutually distinct characteristics? From this point onwards is called the third part, which explains the characteristic of oneness by being free from the three kinds of faults. Thus, suchness and so on are free from the three kinds of faults such as causes, therefore the oneness is accomplished. This is also shown in two ways: explanation and conclusion. The explanation is also divided into two: showing the mutually distinct characteristics of the aggregates and so on, and distinguishing that suchness does not have distinct characteristics, this is the first. The words of the sutra This is also shown by dividing it into two: showing the mutually distinct characteristics of the aggregates and so on, and showing the mutually distinct characteristics of the ayatanas and so on by analogy. Thus, because the characteristics of the aggregates and so on are different, there are three kinds of faults: because they arise from things with causes, because the characteristics of conditioned phenomena will change, because it is also necessary to seek what is not the ultimate truth, and because it is not final. If the suchness, ultimate reality, and selflessness of all dharmas also become distinct characteristics, then suchness, ultimate reality, and selflessness will also become things with causes and arise from causes. If it is indeed produced from a cause, then it will become conditioned. If it is conditioned, then it will become not ultimate. If it is ultimate, then another ultimate truth must be completely sought.

The following is the second distinction from Suchness (Sanskrit, Tathātā, Devanagari, तथाता, Romanized Sanskrit, tathātā, literal Chinese meaning: Suchness), which has no different characteristics. This also has two aspects: one is to show that ultimate reality has three faults, and the other is to show that ultimate reality is free from three faults by the concordant explanation of the following "Subhuti" and so on. This is the first. This sutra passage can also be divided into two parts: one is to state the characteristics of difference, and the other is to state the three faults. The three faults are as stated before. Alternatively, there are five faults: having a cause, arising from a cause, becoming conditioned, not being ultimate reality, and seeking other ultimate realities everywhere. If combined with this sutra passage, then mirror-like wisdom and so on arise from a cause, and therefore are included in the conditioned, which shows that they are not the truth of ultimate reality. Therefore, in the commentaries of teachers such as Near Light, it is said that the enjoyment body is impermanent, and whatever is born with birth will surely perish, which is explained from one perspective. Some say it is permanent. Other meanings will be explained in detail below. Subhuti, why are Suchness (Sanskrit, Tathātā, Devanagari, तथाता, Romanized Sanskrit, tathātā, literal Chinese meaning: Suchness), ultimate reality, and the selflessness of phenomena not called having a cause? Because they are not born from a cause, nor are they conditioned, therefore they are ultimate reality. Having obtained this ultimate reality, there is no need to seek other ultimate truths everywhere. And so on, this is the second concordant explanation, showing that ultimate reality is free from three faults. This also has two aspects: one is to correctly explain that ultimate reality is free from three faults, and the other is to prove it by reasoning from the following "the notion of permanence and constancy" and so on. This is the first: like this, since different changes have three faults, it should be known that ultimate reality is of one taste and free from three faults, which is a concluding statement. Whether the Tathagata appears in the world at the time of permanence and constancy, or does not appear in the world, the nature of phenomena and the limits of phenomena, their placement and existence are all
