As for the reason why it can be achieved from the perspective of complete purification: However, the Sutra Pitaka says that their nature is naturally pure. Therefore, conditioned phenomena and ultimate truth should be understood as not being different. Or, it should not be said that conventional truth is ultimate truth, and ultimate truth is conventional truth, because they are completely separate from each other. There are many explanations by the masters about the true reality, but because of the fear of being verbose, it is not elaborated here. Extremely pure wisdom, from here onwards, "all the characteristics of conditioned phenomena are differentiated, not undifferentiated," is the second line of reasoning that is consistent with what follows, refuting the clinging to oneness and otherness. This also has two aspects: first, relying on two characteristics, clinging to non-otherness, refuting it; second, relying on two characteristics, clinging to otherness, refuting it. The first characteristic, those two characteristics themselves are divided into two, thus becoming two. This is first relying on the difference in self-nature and clinging to non-otherness, refuting it. How do Yogis view conditioned phenomena, how do they hear, how do they distinguish, how do they discern, and seek the ultimate truth at other times than these? This second "also because of seeking the ultimate truth, clinging to non-otherness, refuting it," is just a metaphor of the Sutra Pitaka itself. Furthermore, what is distinguished from the mere absence of self and the mere absence of inherent existence of conditioned phenomena is called the characteristic of ultimate truth. From here onwards, it shows the second aspect of relying on two characteristics and clinging to otherness, refuting it. This is first refuting the clinging to otherness by the meaning distinguished by the mere absence of self. Furthermore, the characteristic of the difference between the characteristics of being both completely defiled and purified at the same time is not established, which refers to: the second aspect of relying on the characteristic of not being different and clinging to otherness, refuting it. As it is said in the Sutra Pitaka, all dharmas are self-

It is like saying, "Because it is merely the nature of being completely pure." Therefore, saying that the characteristics of ultimate truth and the characteristics of conditioned phenomena are not different, and saying that they are different, is not reasonable. From here onwards, it is the conclusion showing the two kinds of faults. This also has two aspects: a general conclusion by reason, and a conclusion by mentioning examination and repeating it. This is the first general conclusion by reason, refuting the holding of oneness and otherness. If someone says this: the characteristics of ultimate truth and the characteristics of conditioned phenomena are not different, or they say they are different, then that reason does not conform to all proper conduct, and it should be known that it is not acting according to the true way. This is the second conclusion by mentioning examination and repeating it, destroying the holding of oneness and otherness, which is merely the expression of the Sutra itself. In the treatise showing the Buddha-nature, and showing the three aspects of selflessness, and in the Yogācārabhūmi, it is shown that if Suchness and characteristics are one or different, there will be three kinds of faults. Furthermore, in the treatise showing the Buddha-nature, relying on Dharma and individuals, it shows the destruction of holding ultimate and conventional truths as one or different, but because there are too many, they are not mentioned here. Intelligence is extremely pure, for example, the whiteness of a conch shell, it is not easy to establish whether the whiteness of a conch shell is the nature of being one or different. From here onwards, it is the third explanation by mentioning examples and repeating them, showing the explanation. It is shown by ten examples, so it is divided into ten from there. Although there are ten aspects, they should be explained in order by combining them with the six objects. That is, the first two are made in terms of form, the next one is made in terms of sound, the next one is made in terms of smell, the next two are made in terms of taste, the next two are made in terms of touch, and the last two are made in terms of phenomena. This is the first, the whiteness of a conch shell is one.
