Now, explaining the faults by explaining in accordance with "wisdom being extremely pure," etc. The first is also divided into two: refuting the fault of believing there is no difference based on the two characteristics, and refuting the fault of believing there is a difference based on the two characteristics. Explaining the refutation of the fault of believing there is no difference is also explained in two ways: refuting the fault of believing there is no difference based on the distinctions of the formations, and also refuting the grasping of no difference based on completely seeking the ultimate. This is the first: like this, if the ultimate truth and the aggregates, etc., are without distinction, then the aggregates, etc., will also be without the distinctions of the aggregates, etc. This is the summary. The practitioners of yoga, how they see, how they hear, how they distinguish, and how they know the formations, will not seek the ultimate at other times. This is the second, explaining the refutation of the fault of believing there is no difference based on completely seeking the ultimate. Like this, if the ultimate truth and the characteristics of the formations are not different, then, since the objects of seeing, etc., have been seen as they are, and their meanings have been understood, then it is not appropriate to seek the ultimate later. However, since there is still seeking the ultimate, it should be understood that they are not the same. The meaning of seeing, hearing, distinguishing, and knowing is as previously explained. If the characteristic of the ultimate truth and the characteristic of the formations are different, then, whatever is distinguished by the mere selflessness and the mere absence of essence of the formations is not the characteristic of the ultimate truth. From this point onwards is the second, explaining the refutation of grasping oneness and difference based on selflessness, etc. This also has two aspects: relying on mere selflessness, etc., to consider difference

Refuting clinging, and refuting the view that things are separate because the characteristics of difference are not established. This is the first point: Thus, the Blessed One said that all phenomena are merely without self, and all phenomena are merely without own-being. Therefore, the ultimate truth is also not separate from all conditioned things. If it were to become separate, then the mere selflessness of conditioned things and the mere absence of their own-being would not be distinguished, this is the concluding statement. Furthermore, the characteristic of difference would necessarily be established at the same time, for example, the characteristic of defilement and the characteristic of purification, this is the second point, refuting the view of separateness because the characteristic of difference is not established. The explanation of this sutra passage also differs from each other. Some say that, furthermore, the characteristic of difference will necessarily be established at the same time, etc., this is because the image of objects such as names, etc., is completely eliminated, and the thusness of signlessness is manifested. Therefore, when signlessness is manifested, signs will not appear, and when signs appear, signlessness will not appear. Therefore, it should not be established as being established at the same time. If it were something completely separate as described below, then it would be reasonable for the characteristic of difference to be established at the same time, because the characteristics are different from each other, just like form and sound, etc. Some say that, furthermore, at the same time, the characteristic of difference, the two dharmas of defilement and purification, will be established, which is reasonable. Why is that? Because the ultimate truth is completely different from all conditioned things, therefore, when seeing the supreme of purification, it is reasonable to abandon defilement, and when seeing defilement, it is reasonable not to obstruct purification. Some say that if the ultimate truth and conditioned things become separate, then at the same time, the characteristic of difference, all phenomena are defiled from the very beginning, from the very beginning
