It is divided into three parts. The first part, starting with "From then on," etc., shows the beginning of what is being said. The second part, starting with "Son of the lineage," etc., praises that requesting to speak is reasonable, and both the words and meaning become consistent. Or, both are beneficial to oneself and others, and become consistent, therefore the repetition of the phrase "It is just so." The Blessed One said, "It is just so." If connected with the Great Chapter Sutra, in which the king of the hundred thousand gods praises that the merit of making offerings to the Prajnaparamita is immeasurable. The Blessed One said, "It is just so, it is just so." Acharya Nagarjuna made an explanation of the words of this sutra, because the king of the hundred thousand gods doubted "This is not the all-knowing one," and fearing that a wrong understanding would arise, the Blessed One repeated the phrase "It is just so, it is just so." This sutra is also like that, and for the words that appear below, it should also be understood as "It is just so." The third part, starting with "I," etc., shows that the question is answered briefly as asked, that is, relying on the ultimate truth, one will manifest perfect complete enlightenment, and will also show it to others in the same way. "What is the reason for that?" This is called the third part, that is, the Bodhisattva's re-examination, meaning, for what reason is it completely beyond the realm of speculation? I say that the ultimate truth is the inner, individual wisdom of the noble ones, and the act of speculation is the mutual understanding of individual fools, from this point onwards is the fourth part, showing that the Blessed One widely and distinctly explains as requested. Thus, by showing the characteristics of completely transcending the realm of speculation with five characteristics, it is also distinguished from those five aspects. For example, inner individual wisdom, and the realm of no characteristics, and the unspeakable, and the complete cessation of all terms, and the characteristic of the pacification of all disputes. For everything also

It is divided into two types: detailed explanation and conclusion. This is the first. Thus, the non-conceptual wisdom of the noble ones focuses on the realm of Suchness, thereby manifestly realizing the inner self-nature. Regarding this inner self-awareness, the individual explanations also differ. Some say that all that is obtained from the root and afterwards attains the Suchness of inner awareness, therefore it does not manifest images. This is because immaculate wisdom focuses on Suchness. Some say that both the root and what is obtained afterwards manifest images, but it is not directly perceived. If it were not so, meaning could not be accomplished by mere consciousness. Some say that authentic wisdom directly realizes its own self-nature and also focuses on it without alteration, just as there is no other aspect of reason apart from the aspect of one's own realization. Subsequent wisdom focuses on what has become an image, because it is conceptual. If it were not so, wisdom like a mirror, etc., focusing on the realm of Suchness,

Therefore, investigation is like this: it is a universal search. Analysis is individual examination. As it is said in the *Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra* and others, everything is the nature of mind and wisdom. Thus it is declared. In this sutra, the term "investigation and analysis" refers to investigation and analysis generally as investigation and analysis. Because everything has universal search and thought. This "investigation and analysis" also, the individual explanations are not the same. The Sarvāstivādins say that outside of the mind, there is a true nature that arises from the mind. All beings from the desire realm to the first dhyana have both investigation and analysis. Special dhyanas are without investigation but with analysis. Everything from the second dhyana and above is said to be without both investigation and analysis. They say that the six consciousnesses are divided into those with outflows and those without outflows. The detailed explanation should be understood as explained in the *Abhidharmakośa* and other treatises. The Sautrāntikas say that outside of the mind, there is nothing that becomes its own nature, nor is it one with the mind, but investigation and analysis arise. Therefore, in the *Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi*, from the chapter on investigation and analysis, some say that it is not permissible to say that investigation and analysis exist in one mind. The Sautrāntikas are also mostly in agreement with the Mahayana. The difference between them is that the treatises of the *Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi* show that it is the nature of mind, while the treatises of the Mahayana show that it is the nature of mind and wisdom. Furthermore, the treatises of the Sautrāntikas also consider the three realms to be different, as it is said in the *Mahāvibhāṣā*, everything from the desire realm to the peak of existence has both investigation and analysis. There is a difference between the three realms, and it is also said that the virtuous dharmas of the desire realm and the first dhyana, those that correspond to afflictions, and all minds that are obscured and unspecified have both investigation and analysis.
