Without a place, not seeking nirvana, desiring and craving samsara. The second is not generating respect for my teachings, and slandering the Mahayana, from here onwards, it is extensively explained. Attachment to "nothingness" is also of two kinds: practice without means and practice with means. Practice without means also has two kinds of people. The first is the ninety-six kinds of non-Buddhists outside of the Buddha's teachings, with different doctrines. The second is those who abide in the Buddha's teachings and, although they have generated great faith, their minds are extremely attached to the view of the perishable aggregate, and they do not accept the correct meaning. I say that this person is no different from non-Buddhists. Furthermore, there are some people with strong arrogance who abide in the correct teachings, meditate on emptiness, and generate the two views of existence and non-existence, thinking that this is the ultimate emptiness, the only path towards unsurpassed Bodhi, the door of liberation skillfully revealed by the Tathagata. To generate attachment to these is what I say is incurable. Furthermore, in that sutra, the Blessed One said to Ananda: If someone is attached to "self," even if it is as big as Mount Sumeru, I would not be dissatisfied with it, nor would I desire anything. However, if a person with strong arrogance is attached to emptiness, like looking at a single hair divided into sixty parts, I would not pay attention to it. People who practice with means are also of two kinds: those of the Hearer Vehicle and those of the Solitary Realizer Vehicle. Those who have no attachment to existence and non-existence refer to those who have extremely sharp faculties and practice the Mahayana. These people do not crave samsara like those with strong desires, nor do they practice without means like non-Buddhists, nor do they practice with means like the two vehicles. This is what the sutra says, and the details can be found in that sutra. Furthermore, in that sutra, the Blessed One said to Ananda: If someone is attached to the three realms and slanders the Mahayana, then that person is a person with strong desires.
