Being separate from both is the characteristic of being undetermined, so it is said. Third, the causes of bad and good destinies are different, as it is said in the sutra: Any of the five heinous crimes is the characteristic of being determined to be wrong. The five faculties are the characteristic of being determined to be right. Being separate from both is the characteristic of being undetermined, so it is said. Fourth, the causes of heretics and noble hearers are different, as it is said in the sutra: The eight wrong views are the characteristic of being determined to be wrong. The state of right view is the characteristic of being determined to be right. Also, because there is nothing to be done, being separate from both is the characteristic of being undetermined, so it is said. Fifth, it is also shown by the difference of Bodhisattvas, as it is said in the sutra: Not abandoning jealousy, stinginess, and misconduct is the characteristic of being determined to be wrong. Approaching the unsurpassed noble path is the characteristic of being determined to be right. The characteristic of being separate from both is the characteristic of being undetermined. All of them are completely known as they are, so it is said. Forgetting sentient beings who should be tamed is jealousy. Not rejoicing in the perfection of others is the fault of stinginess. Creating suffering for others and not abandoning misconduct, because it is not in accordance with the Paramitas, therefore, Bodhisattvas will surely become wrong views. That is the great Dharma speaker who has perfected the wisdom of skillful means, so it should be said, so it is said. Furthermore, there are five kinds of exaggerations, the first is the door of karma, afflictions, and tending towards peace, as it is said in the Yogacarabhumi: The collection of dharmas that is determined to be wrong is like this, having committed the five heinous crimes, and whatever cuts off the roots of virtue. The collection of dharmas that is determined to be right is like this, the dharmas that exist in those who are learning and those who are not learning. The collection of dharmas that is undetermined is like this, other than that, the dharmas that are neither learning nor not learning, as taught. The commentary on the Prajnaparamita also says the same thing. The second is the door that shows what has been abandoned and what has not been abandoned, as in the commentary on the Prajnaparamita

In language, there are three divisions from the destruction of perversion: that which arises from the destruction of perversion is definitely true. That which cannot be destroyed is definitely false. That which can be destroyed if it has conditions, and cannot be destroyed if it does not have conditions, is uncertain, as it is said. The details are as they appear in that text. The third is the gate of showing what is suitable and unsuitable. As it is said in the Noble Bodhisattva Pitaka Sutra: What is it like to be certain of being true? It is like this: because of the power of the cause, the practice of previous lives, and the wisdom of discernment, arising from sharp faculties, the Tathagatas say that they are suitable as vessels of the Dharma, or if the Dharma is taught, they will attain liberation. What is it like to be of an uncertain kind? By the power of external conditions, if instruction is given according to the Dharma, liberation will be attained, but if there is no instruction and subsequent guidance according to the Dharma, liberation will not be attained. For the benefit of beings like these, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, appear in the world. What is it like to be a heap that is definitely false? It is like this: those beings who are obscured by the afflictions of their own nature, who cannot be completely purified, whose mental strength is weak, whose ignorance is very thick, who are entangled in the net of wrong views, and who are not vessels of the true Dharma. Whether the Tathagatas teach the Dharma or not, they are not likely to be objects of manifest distinction of liberation. As it is said, the details are as they appear in that text. The fourth is the gate of clinging to existence and non-existence. As it is said in the Sutra of Showing the Supreme Place: In the world, there are three aspects of sentient beings: clinging to existence, clinging to non-existence, and not clinging to existence and non-existence. There are also two kinds of clinging to existence: the first is turning one's back on the path of Nirvana, the lineage of Nirvana.
