In order to show the benefit of quickly seeing the Buddha, it is said: "By this, one will also abandon the evil destinies." Here, "by this" refers to the superior person among sentient beings. Abandoning means casting away far away. If one wonders what is abandoned, it is said "evil destinies," which are the evil realms, because due to the power of karma, one will not be born there again. Because one constantly obtains birth in the realms of gods and humans, one not only abandons the evil destinies, but also abandons the evil friends who are the cause of evil destinies. The diminishing companions are the evil friends, who, in order to make this life comfortable for a short time, lead one into household life and so on, and in order to make those who are vessels of that vehicle quickly transcend suffering, separate them from the Great Vehicle and lead them into the Hearer and Solitary Realizer vehicles. Those are also completely abandoned by diligently serving and honoring the virtuous spiritual friend as he truly is, and by diligently practicing his instructions. Thus, by the power of meditating on the aspiration prayer, one distances oneself from the evil destinies and completely abandons evil friends, therefore he will quickly see the Bhagavan Amitabha. Here, Amitabha's light pervades the entire expanse of the sky, pacifying the various sufferings of the evil destinies, and greatly increasing the happiness of gods and humans, because he has immeasurable light that benefits all sentient beings, therefore he is Amitabha. Thinking that seeing the Bhagavan is welcoming, it is said: "Whoever recites this 'King of Aspiration Prayers, the Good Conduct'." The meaning is, whoever recites this king of aspiration prayers called 'The Good Conduct'. Thus, after showing the benefit of seeing the Buddha, in order to show the merit of obtaining equality with the Bodhisattvas, it is said: "What he obtains, is a very good attainment," and so on. Obtaining the desired meaning that was not obtained before, that itself is a very good attainment, because one obtains a meaning that is vast and extensive, therefore it is very good. Those are not only very good attainments, but also very good living by the blessing of great beings, that is, those lives.

Even with the suffering that befalls them, those who accomplish the benefit of others live well, while others are like the dead. Therefore, the Well-Gone has come, having come well into this human existence in order to be able to accomplish the benefit of beings. Therefore, those who perform immeasurable benefit for sentient beings and become great with supremely joyful wisdom, some of them are called supreme beings, while those other than them are like rotten roots. They will not be long in becoming like that. The meaning of this is that, as mentioned before, because of this reason, how the great Bodhisattva, the Bhagavan Samantabhadra, is, those who follow and accomplish his aspiration will also not be long in becoming like that, but will only quickly become like that. Thus, having spoken of the benefits of completely accumulating merit, seeing the Buddha, and attaining equality with the Bodhisattvas, now, the benefits of purifying obscurations are spoken of with "The sins of the five inexpiable acts," etc. "Inexpiable" means that immediately after death, one falls into hell without being able to prevent sentient beings from falling into hell, therefore it is inexpiable. The five are: killing one's father, killing one's mother, killing an Arhat, causing dissension in the Sangha, and drawing blood from the Tathagata with malicious intent. Sin is what causes one to fall into the lower realms, therefore it is the fault of the ripening. "Whoever, through the power of ignorance," means that due to relying on bad friends, whoever does not know the great ripening of karma, and what has been done. "If one recites this conduct of good," means whoever recites this king of aspirations called "Conduct of Good," that is, reciting with faith and believing with devotion. "Quickly may they all be purified," wherein "quickly" means not delaying for long. "Purified" means completely exhausted. "May" means to do. "All" means without remainder, that is, not even a little remains. Thus, in order to show the distinction of the four benefits of this life, namely, "Wisdom, form, and signs, etc."
