When all the questions of discrimination regarding the special samadhi, which is stainless and like a diamond, are exhausted, what kind of birth is it? That is because the causes of the Buddhas are different, and the moments are different, so they are different. Therefore, to realize the ocean, one must rely on the power of the virtuous friend, be in harmony with the supreme Dharma, properly apply the mind, and manifest it through the stages of practice. The conduct is to make offerings to all beings, prostrate, confess sins, rejoice, exhort, pray, dedicate, benefit all beings, bodhicitta, etc., and the nature of the perfection of the pāramitās, the complete perfection of the bhūmis, etc., which all śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, and bodhisattvas abiding on the first bhūmi are terrified of just by thinking about it. That which purifies is the distinction of things, times, and directions, as well as the collection, expansion, benefiting others, purifying one's own continuum, etc., as taught, the distinction of vessels, quantitative measures, times, and places, and the complete perfection of the distinctions of activities such as arranging implements and emanations, which are accomplished by the power of faith. Aspiration is the distinction of wisdom itself. The various ways of benefiting oneself and others, and the ultimate perfection of enlightenment in accordance with skillful means, etc., are the ways of pursuing meaning. Moreover, all bodhisattvas have different realms, behaviors, birthplaces, lineages, bloodlines, and bone distinctions, and because they are many, they are called the ocean. That which is completely purified in limitless time is the ultimate perfection of wisdom, skillful means, samadhi, dhāraṇī, liberation, merit, and the power of wisdom, which is complete perfection. The Buddhas are those who, seeing the suffering of sentient beings, with hearts full of great compassion, do not discriminate even against those who have not been benefited, and until the realm of sentient beings is exhausted, I will act as their son, and in order to liberate them, I will put on great armor, the great ocean of saṃsāra.

Having overcome countless hundreds of thousands of sufferings, they perfected the accumulations of merit and wisdom through various distinctions of wisdom and skillful means. Having completely dispelled the darkness of ignorance, the sun of wisdom, like a single lamp, illuminated all the corners of the earth, awakening from the sleep of ignorance, and becoming Buddhas for the sake of enlightenment. Their lineages are different, and their times are different, and because they are beyond counting, they are called the ocean. The instruments of offering, the place, time, and objects, and the excellence of the arrangement, possessing all of these, with the self-nature of countless clouds of offerings, pervading the boundless sphere of the sky. And each of these, with endless time, is greatly praised, this is the offering. I will practice without weariness in the ocean of eons. The term "eon" refers to various types such as intermediate eons. Among them, the first eon, starting from the immeasurable lifespan of humans, gradually decreasing to the lifespan of ten years, is called a "decreasing eon," which is one intermediate eon. Then, again starting from a lifespan of eighty thousand years, decreasing in order to a lifespan of ten years, this is called "increasing and decreasing eon," which is the second intermediate eon. After eighteen such eons, the last is one "increasing eon," and the first is one "decreasing eon," twenty intermediate eons are when the world is formed. Twenty intermediate eons are when it is formed and remains. Twenty intermediate eons are when the world is destroyed. Twenty intermediate eons are when it is destroyed and remains empty. Eighty such intermediate eons are one great eon. This is called a great eon, and those that are beyond counting are the ocean. Having entered therein for the sake of accomplishing the sole benefit of others, accomplishing the deeds of benefiting sentient beings, those who have obtained the supreme antidote of the same taste, for the sake of accomplishing the practice of benefiting beings, even dwelling for a long time in the prison of samsara, the source of many sufferings, even dwelling in hells and so forth, this is the practice. There, also, with the thought of benefiting them, for the enemies who have not harmed, those who are tormented by other enemies, cutting off hands, feet, ears, noses, and so forth, even taking the life of the self.
