It means to teach the Mahayana Dharma. Is that all there is to do? No. What then? It also speaks of "purely purifying the excellent conduct." Excellent refers to the noble Samantabhadra. His conduct is the excellent conduct. Or, because it is both conduct and excellent for the sake of completely obtaining all virtues, it is the excellent conduct. The so-called "completely purifying" means that universal purification is thorough purification. Or, previously, only through hearing and thinking, (virtue) is kept in mind and expanded, and later through practice, the ultimate consummation of wisdom is achieved, which is thorough purification. In this way, when upholding the sacred Dharma, teaching the conduct of Bodhi, and practicing the excellent conduct, one might wonder what should be done? (The sutra) says, "I will practice in all future kalpas." This shows that through perfect aspiration, the perfection of power is shown by the conduct held by the inclination to overwhelm the opposing side. In this way, in order to show the accumulation of immeasurable virtuous deeds and the accumulation of merit and wisdom, (the sutra) says, "Also revolving in all existences." Here, "existences" refers to samsara. These are all and also existences, so they are "all existences," referring to all beings included in the three realms. By the power of karma or the power of aspiration, revolving in these (existences), experiencing the process from one life to another, is connected to the end of "becoming the inexhaustible treasury of all qualities." In "merit and wisdom are all inexhaustible," merit is practiced for the sake of habituation, and wisdom is practiced for the sake of knowledge. The inexhaustibility of these merit and wisdom is that they will never be exhausted. To obtain is to receive, meaning to obtain extremely. In this way, by fully grasping the means mentioned above, one can obtain as much inexhaustible merit and wisdom as there are realms of sentient beings, and in order to accomplish all the benefits of oneself and others, one also desires to obtain inexhaustibility through qualities such as wisdom, so (the sutra) says, "Wisdom, means, and samadhi, liberation, etc."

Thus it is said. Because of thoroughly understanding, it is wisdom. Because one can obtain what one does not need to diligently contemplate, it is skillful means. Because the mind abides correctly on the object of focus, it is samadhi. Because it liberates the mind from all obscurations, it is liberation. As those said, and the collections of qualities in the continuums of all the sons of the Sugatas, rare, countless, immeasurable, and others also become inexhaustible treasures. The so-called becoming an inexhaustible treasure is the word for becoming a treasure that will not be exhausted. The Buddha is inexhaustible because of the constant continuation of abiding in samsara, and also because it is a container with qualities such as power and fearlessness in its continuum, it is also a treasure. Or, the Buddha is a container of inexhaustible common or uncommon qualities and jewels, so it is a treasure. The analogy for both is space. All qualities are completely pure, that is, inexhaustible. This shows the Perfection of Wisdom gathered by faith. Thus, after prostrating and so on, and practicing the perfections gathered by faith as just mentioned, it shows the complete acceptance of immeasurable merit. Now, it shows entering the pure land of excellent intention, which also has eight aspects. Among them, entering to view the Buddha-field is what is said, such as "On one atom are all the fields equal to the number of atoms." On one extremely small atom, one views all the Buddha-fields of countless immeasurable atoms. Is that all? No. There is also the saying, "In that field are inconceivable Buddhas." Also, one views the countless inconceivable qualities of the Buddhas, the Bhagavan, in each of those Buddha-fields, practicing the conduct of Bodhi, and also viewing. Combine this with what will appear below. Is it only one Buddha to be viewed? No. Then what is viewed? "Those who dwell in the midst of the Buddha's sons," that is, in the circle of the retinue of all the Buddha's sons, the Bodhisattvas.
