Thus it is said. Death is dying, a synonym for what is called death. Birth is birth, meaning to obtain a distinction of the same kind. Even if one remembers past lives, in the state of each being, because one has become a householder and associates with those beings, one has not trained the mind stream, so in the assembly, one combines, as it is said, "At the time of death and birth," etc. From where one dies and where one is born, may one become ordained there. Where one is born, may one become ordained there, even if one abandons the attire of a householder and association with them, thinking until when? To this, it is said, "Always." It means at all times, not just occasionally ordained. Even if one is ordained, because of practicing immoral conduct, if faults occur in the precepts, etc., the complete Sangha becomes important. The precepts without that are the basis of all qualities, so all the qualities one obtains will also disappear, therefore it is said, "Practice precepts without impurity," etc. The conduct of the characteristic of precepts is the practice of precepts. What is that? If one is driven by faults such as desire, and becomes defiled by the impurity of immoral precepts, therefore it is said, "Without impurity." What is that? If, because of the behavior of ignorance, not wanting to learn, one does not understand the places of learning, or because of loss of mindfulness, etc., one becomes not completely pure, to this it is said, "Completely pure." Precepts completely grasped by wisdom are without impurity and completely pure. What is completely pure? If it becomes pure like the sun of the seasons, to this it is said, "Always."

Therefore, one should always practice and continuously strive in such discipline. In order to obtain happiness and mental happiness in the happy realms due to the excellence of body and resources, and in order to pacify the suffering of immoral discipline, it is called discipline because it cools the mind. Thus, by remembering past lives, renouncing, and completely purifying discipline, it shows that one's own continuum is completely matured. Now, just by the power of remembering past lives, in order to fully understand the languages of all living beings, in order to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings with all those differences of languages, by the excellence of aspiration, if one is born in the gods and so on, in that and that place, in order to teach them the Dharma with the differences of their own languages. It is said, "The language of the gods," and so on. This verse shows that other continuums are completely matured. Thus, it is not appropriate to use a violent mind to practice those meanings and accomplish the benefit of oneself and others. In order to accomplish that meaning, the verses such as "He strives diligently for the other shore" are spoken. That is the nature of supreme love for all sentient beings. Although he associates with all sentient beings who act wrongly, he is not weary, and he does not harm others with his body, speech, or mind. Thus, one who has entered the taming of all sentient beings, with compassion and without obscuration, accomplishes the benefit of sentient beings. Thus, with the actions of body, speech, and mind completely purified, "He strives diligently for the other shore," or going to the other shore, which is giving and so on, in order to go to the end of one's own perfection. Therefore, one should strive diligently in those and be very happy. If one wonders whether one will be separated from the mind of enlightenment, it is said, "The mind of enlightenment is never forgotten." Here, in order to become accustomed to the practice of the perfections, by obtaining the antidote, in the stage of practice with faith, even if one is born in that and that place due to the power of aspiration, which is the cause of the benefit of sentient beings, the mind of enlightenment is never forgotten due to the power of faith.

It shows, do not become like that. There, obtaining unsurpassed wisdom is enlightenment. There, the mind is the mind of enlightenment, is it for accumulating various kinds of merit and wisdom accumulations? Or, with the power of how completely purified power is grasped, in order to adorn with various different ways of samsara and definite departure, so it is the mind. The so-called "never forget" means "never become like that again," and there, it means "do not lose the power of its birth." In this way, for the aspects that are incompatible with the mind of enlightenment, completely purified, one might also think, if so, then obstacles might arise universally. Therefore, it is said, "Which sins have become obstacles," and so on. Sins are the non-virtuous dharmas such as desire, and those themselves are the obstacles that obscure the arising of the noble path, namely karma, afflictions, and the nature of fruition. Among them, karma is done and accumulated, so it will hinder realization. Afflictions are what initiate the paths of the ten non-virtuous actions, therefore it becomes everything, so it is the obstacle of the Bodhisattvas. Fruition is what hinders the completion of the accumulations of merit and wisdom, that is the obstacle. May those be completely purified in my continuum, which means "do not occur." If completely purified, then one might think, if it is not left behind at any time. The so-called "not left behind" is specifically, the completely entangled habitual tendencies and attachments are also without meaning. The order is, if when reborn into another life, memory is lost, then in beginningless lifetimes, the habit of craving for the household will occur first. Therefore, if one declines due to attachment to sons and daughters, etc., then one will violate discipline and not delight in virtue. Then, if discipline is broken, then it will be difficult to obtain the complete maturation of sentient beings. Then, if the mind becomes defiled, then like a wish-fulfilling jewel, it will certainly not benefit sentient beings either. Then, the connection with the perfections will be distant. Then, it will become the seed of all accumulations of merit.
