A mother is both an Arhat woman and sleeps as an Arhat woman. The ultimate lie is this: to slander the Tathagata. The ultimate in slander is this: to cause dissension in the Sangha. The ultimate in harsh speech is this: to mock the noble ones. The ultimate in idle talk is this: to distract those who desire the Dharma. The ultimate in attachment is this: to think of robbing the gains of those who have attained the path and those who have entered the path. The ultimate in malice is this: not to rely on the noble ones. The ultimate in wrong view is this: to be extremely attached to views. All these ten paths of unwholesome actions are great offenses. O Light Protector, if some sentient beings are endowed with these ten paths of unwholesome actions, which are great offenses, and they engage in the Dharma taught by the Tathagata, which is endowed with causes and conditions, and think, 'There is no self here, no sentient being, no life, no person, no doer, and no one who experiences separately.' Therefore, all dharmas are uncreated, not manifestly assembled, of illusory nature, without afflictions, and enter into the naturally completely pure. I have not said that those sentient beings who manifest joy and great devotion to all dharmas that are pure from the beginning will go to bad destinies. Why is that? Because afflictions do not have the substance of aggregates; all afflictions arise, decay, and disappear. They gather and arise from the assembly of causes and conditions, and as soon as they arise, they cease. O Blessed One, just as the arising mind is pacified, so too all afflictions are pacified. Whoever is extremely devoted in this way will never become a cause of sin, because for one without obscurations, there is no place or opportunity to become sinful.' Thus he spoke. Therefore, if the mind of enlightenment is manifested, then the unwholesome, which is the cause of all faults, will be completely cleansed. As it is said in the Sutra Questioned by the Noble Upali, if a Bodhisattva commits a fault in the morning, and manifests the mind of enlightenment at noon, then his discipline
