Here in this land of children, relying on the lord of the land, named 'Given,' adorned with five hundred sons, the mind is exceedingly joyful. Free from the harm of external aggressors, famine, demons, and so forth, like Jambudvipa and the realm of the gods without distinction, they experience the incomparable bliss of royal governance. Moreover, at that time, the Tathagata, the King of the Assembly of Splendor, especially with the greatness of the self-nature of the King of Samadhi, will surely reveal and teach the Dharma. In order to clearly distinguish the ultimate true nature, and in order to thoroughly establish that all dharmas are without self. He spoke of 'the cycle of existence of sentient beings is like a dream,' and so on. Because it arises in the cycle of the six realms, it is called 'existence.' Being born there is called 'sentient being.' These are like dreams. Just as in a dream, sentient beings who fall into various states, although the self-awareness of birth, cessation, happiness, and suffering can be closely observed, the objects of the dream are not established, so birth and death and so on are not truly existent. The saying, 'In this, there is no one born, nor is there anyone who dies,' means there is no birth. Like the child of a barren woman, there is no birth. For the unborn, there is also no death. The saying, 'Sentient beings, names, and lives are also unobtainable,' the Samkhyas consider sentient beings to be the chief possessor of the three gunas (Tibetan: ཡོན་ཏན།, Sanskrit Devanagari: गुण, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: guṇa, literal Chinese meaning: गुण). When that is completely transformed, it is called 'sentient being.' The saying 'unobtainable' means that if one examines it carefully with reason, it will not become an object of observation, because transformation is unreasonable. If it is permanent, then its own nature will not change into another, so it is also not a transformation. If it is momentary, then there is no opportunity to exist in the second moment, so it is said that there is no transformation. Life is the self contemplated by the naked ascetics, but that also cannot be observed apart from the five skandhas. Name is the person contemplated by the Vedic scholars and so on, such as the son of the desireless one and so on. That also cannot be observed. Therefore, these dharmas are like bubbles and trees in the water. The collection of bubbles is merely an appearance, and if one examines it carefully, what is there?

No-self! The five aggregates are also like bubbles, without the nature of self and so on. Just as there is no essence when water and trees are separated, so too the aggregates, realms, and sources have no essence. Therefore, like an illusion, without inherent existence like the sky, what is experienced is like clouds, like lightning, like the moon in water, like a mirage, appearing but not found, it is the nature of an instant. These metaphors are shown to prove the selflessness of persons, and are spoken according to what is known to some. In order to mix and teach the two selflessnesses, the three realms are empty like dreams, quickly destroyed and impermanent, like illusions. Regarding the phrase "extremely bright and clear is also like a dream," because extreme appearance and clarity are also like dreams, and it is momentary, it is thoroughly realized that there is no meaning. Here, it does not come from anywhere, nor does it go anywhere from here, because all dharmas are emptiness and without characteristics. Therefore, the phrase "the impure world also dies here," there is no dying from this impure world, nor going to another world. Because there is no coming and going, it is always pervasive. Because it is momentary, it dies in the place of birth, so there is no coming and going. If so, there would be the doubt of encountering what is not done and wasting what is done. To dispel this doubt, it is said, "Actions done are never lost." Beings who have done good and bad deeds, when they fall asleep, see the happiness and suffering of heavens and hells, but there is no act of going to those places, and it would be a fault of dying here. If so, one would not experience happiness and suffering, because there is no coming and going. Although there are no beings going to other worlds, karma and its results do not perish, as it is said, "In samsara, it also gives black and white fruits," it is not permanent, nor will it be cut off.
