Not being flattering and not concealing is to correctly restrain the sense faculties for the sake of attainment, and to be free from sweet words. Not being self-praising means being content with just alms, having discipline, and not saying that others are not like that. Not slandering others means not speaking of others' faults. Abandoning attachment and anger, practicing in others' homes means abandoning the discrimination of homes that offer delicious and abundant alms, and following equally. Giving the Dharma without mixing it with material things is not being attached to wealth. The merit of learning means abiding in the state of aging, and hearing the Dharma that is taught, because worldly people abide in the discipline that is pleasing, these ten benefits are these. The meaning of the verses is the same as before. Young man, like this, abiding in the merit of learning, living in the solitary place just mentioned, one will obtain the treasure of the Buddha, obtain the treasure of the Dharma, obtain the treasure of wisdom, and obtain the treasure of the knowledge of the three times. If asked: How does one obtain the treasure of the Buddha? The Blessed One replied: Practicing in solitude, living in a solitary place, one will obtain five superknowledges, namely, the divine eye, the divine ear, knowing the minds of others, remembering past lives, and the realm of magical powers, with the pure divine eye that transcends humans, one will see countless and immeasurable Buddhas, Blessed Ones, in the ten directions. Thus, one will not be separated from seeing the Buddhas, and thus one has obtained the treasure of the Buddhas. Whatever Dharma those Buddhas, Blessed Ones, teach in the ten directions, one will also hear with the divine ear, therefore one will not be separated from hearing the Dharma, and thus one has obtained the treasure of the Dharma. The wisdom that a Bodhisattva possesses enables one to hold all Dharmas, to hold them all without forgetting, and to know thoughts and habits, thereby teaching the Dharma to sentient beings, thus one has obtained the treasure of wisdom. With superknowledge, he knows the past and the future.

Now, it is to enter into understanding the minds and actions of all sentient beings that exist now. In this way, one finds the treasure of knowing the past, the future, and the present. In short, one will also be able to obtain the Buddha's teachings well. The merits of the sacred Dharma are without exception, impossible to express in words, and difficult to contemplate. Even entering with reverence, one cannot express it. It is not bad to enter for the benefit of others. The commentary on the chapter of ten benefits, that is, the twenty-ninth chapter, is complete. Now, renunciation is in accordance with following a good understanding. In order to teach well, (the chapter of) the King of the Assembly of Glory (was proclaimed). Then, the Blessed One spoke again, saying, "Thus," and so on. Young man, therefore, you should also renounce the happiness of the kingdom of the wheel-turning king of the gods and go forth, and you should learn in this way. The meaning of the scripture from "Young man, by completely abandoning yourself, you should also do the benefit of those sentient beings" has been explained. Then, the Blessed One connected it by saying that he had well taught this chapter of past events with the melody of verses. Remembering hundreds of many past kalpas! And so on, he told the story of the past. I remember hundreds of thousands of kalpas in the past. At that time, in the teachings of the Tathagata King of the Assembly of Glory, there were hundreds of millions of monks with six supernormal powers, each of whom had attained perfect knowledge, well adorned with the merits of practice, and a sangha of monks with peaceful minds appeared. There were seventy-six hundred million cities there. Each city had five hundred yojanas, adorned and covered with excellent trees endowed with flowers and various fruits, and adorned with hundreds of thousands of gardens filled with various birds making beautiful sounds, as well as ponds adorned with lotuses, utpalas, fragrant water lilies, and fragrant things, filled with pleasant water endowed with eight qualities, adorned with flocks of birds, as many gardens as there were, were the same. At that time, the Jambu
