It is said that "the benefits of having faith in meditation are ten," and so on. To abide in conduct is to never universally transcend the conduct of a Bodhisattva. To engage in the field of activity is to engage in the grounds and perfections, and so on. To abide without suffering is to abide in the bliss of meditation, with the suffering of afflictions pacified. The senses become concealed, that is, concealed by constantly abiding in equipoise, that is, the senses turn away from objects. Experiencing joy is born from meditation, but not from objects and object-holders. Being secluded from desire is being separated from craving for desire. There is no satisfaction with meditation, that is, there is no satiety with the bliss of meditation. Liberation from the realm of Mara is not being moved by the Mara of discursive thought. To be well established in the realm of the Buddha is to meditate on meditation fully embraced by great compassion and the mind of enlightenment. To fully ripen liberation is to fully nourish the vision of the wisdom of liberation. These ten are the benefits of a Bodhisattva having faith in meditation. The verses are explanations without different meanings. In this place, the Bodhisattva is manifestly endowed with meditation, and at all times experiences supreme joy, is endowed with immeasurable qualities, and quickly becomes a Buddha in this place. Desiring to explain the benefits of abiding in wisdom, it is said, "Youth, the benefits of practicing wisdom are ten," and so on. To completely give away all possessions is to completely give away external and internal entities that have self-nature. Not to boast of being purified by giving is because the fruit of giving without wisdom is only enjoyment. The precepts are not broken, that is, they are completely perfected. Not abiding in discipline is experiencing all dharmas as having no abode. Abiding in the power of patience is abiding in the patience of dharma, because it is separated from the perception of sentient beings, so it does not abide in the perception of sentient beings. Initiating diligence is the diligence of body, speech, and mind, which is good at not focusing on objects.

Abiding therein. Meditating on meditation is the yogi who does not abide in anything. It is difficult for the demons to overcome, as it is through the wisdom that completely destroys all the mandalas of the demons that one discerns well. All opponents of other schools are unshakable, as it is through the wisdom that transcends the world that one does not perceive all opponents of other schools and abides well. The so-called attainment of light is the arising of the light of wisdom that dispels the darkness of ignorance of all entering activities, and enters into all wisdom by holding all sentient beings with great compassion. Because the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas do not desire it, they do not generate a mind that loves the inferior. To enter well into the Buddha's meditation, samadhi, and samapatti is to enter well by generating faith in them. The meaning of the verses has not been explained because there is no difference. The Bodhisattva is mindful, the light of good wisdom shines, arising from the light of wisdom, with compassion as the friend of all sentient beings. Existence and non-existence, arising and cessation, all are just illusions. Having fully realized this, one will become the Buddha, the Sugata. Now, in order to explain the benefits of much learning, it is said, "Youth, these are the ten benefits," and so on. The phrase "What are the ten" should be understood as a word of general indication. Having understood the aspects of all defilements and purification, one abandons the aspects of all defilements, that is, knowing that the ten paths of unwholesome actions are the aspects of all defilements, one abandons them. The so-called distinguishing of doubts is to generate certainty by distinguishing and teaching sentient beings, thereby dispelling doubts. The so-called making views upright is to abandon the wrong views that take Ishvara and other external causes as the cause, as well as the views of the chief substance of unequal causes, and to establish oneself in the correct view. Such a way is to make views upright. The so-called abandoning of wrong paths is to encourage people to abandon sacrifices born from ignorance, such as killing, and oneself also from the paths of heretics, etc.
