From the perspective of food and so on, being extremely greedy, having strong attachment, craving for alms bowls and Dharma robes, being unstable, arrogant, lazy, being controlled by sleep, clearly recognizing laziness, etc., and having contradictions arise in the mind, these will not lead to the attainment of Bodhi. This is what is to be explained. Among them, like "For whom, the realm of activity is mindfulness closely abiding," etc., it explains the cause that is in accordance with realization. Mindfulness is samadhi. Abiding is the mind not being distracted. Joy is extreme joy, like the sala tree. Covered by the garment of emptiness, food is the nectar of meditation. All dharmas are smeared with the ashes of selflessness, whoever possesses the adornment of the garland of flowers of the limbs of enlightenment, that one will attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and fully awakened Bodhi. Therefore, selflessness is the treasure of the river of qualities, perfect Bodhi is adorned with the mind and pervaded by emptiness. From the contemplation of the essence of meaning to the Buddha of boundless wisdom, the cause for completely training in meditative samadhi is also taught. This is the explanation of the chapter on training in samadhi, the sixth chapter is complete. Now, it is the chapter on the three kinds of patience distinguished by accepting suffering, not harming others, and having a definite understanding of the Dharma. It is taught to be skilled in the wisdom of the three kinds of patience, etc. Therefore, the first patience, the second patience, and the third patience should be thoroughly understood. The so-called "should be thoroughly understood" means to understand them particularly. Young people, therefore, like this, etc., it explains that one should strive to grasp these categories of Dharma that enter into the chapter on the three kinds of patience. The nature of the three kinds of patience is explained in the melody of verses, such as "Not arguing with anyone," etc. The so-called "not arguing with anyone" means abandoning fighting and arguing, and following the nature of Dharma, which is to endure everything. Like "These are the explanations of the first patience," etc., it means that one has obtained an understanding of the nature of the first patience. This is the meaning to be explained. The detailed explanation of the first patience

In order to show the distinction of forbearance, (the scripture says) "Knowing all dharmas to be like illusions." and so on. The forbearance that has the nature of enduring all dharmas as illusions, abandoning characteristics, is proficient in all the principles of the sutras, and because it is well-learned, it is free from all doubts. Because the Tathagata has spoken well, he will believe in the non-inverted nature of reality. Then, the distinction between sutras of definitive meaning and sutras of provisional meaning will be known. Whatever establishes emptiness is of definitive meaning, not depending on explanation. Whatever shows the person and so on is of provisional meaning, which can be explained. Therefore, those who see equality will not generate hatred even towards those heretics, and will not be attached to those who have entered the right path. Then, the nature of the four dharanis will appear. He will speak words that follow the truth. The elements such as earth may change, but one who possesses such forbearance will not turn away from the unsurpassed perfect

Now, having the wisdom of omniscience, even though teaching the Dharma through various doors, one also grasps all of them as they are, and also gathers to teach the Dharma to others according to the differences in their minds. This is called the characteristic of the second patience, which is the meaning of virtue. To show the distinction of the third patience, it is said, "East and South and West and North," etc. The Tathagatas who dwell in the realms of the ten directions, in the east, south, west, north, above, below, and in the intermediate directions, will be seen, and the Dharma will also be heard from them. One also emanates Tathagatas from oneself, and also extensively shows them in order to subdue the beings to be tamed. Therefore, one also sees in all Buddha-fields, and also completely fulfills all the thoughts of all beings. In order to learn well the conduct that has become the realm of all the Tathagatas, one also practices in all ways. To show these very things, it is said, "Whatever beings there are in this world," etc. When all beings praise and extol the qualities of a Bodhisattva, if one becomes happy or attached because of that, one should say that one has not learned well the teachings of the Tathagata. When non-praise is proclaimed, if one becomes discouraged, then one is also not learning the wisdom of the Buddha, because being accompanied by attachment and anger is not learning the wisdom of the Tathagata. Similarly, with regard to the eight worldly dharmas such as gain and loss, one's mind is unmoved like the king of mountains, and one is not shaken by the wind of all discriminations. This is the characteristic of the qualities of the third patience. Now, in order to show the distinction by way of the three kinds of patience, this following-sound patience is taught. Because one is patient with the path of words such as evil speech, it is called following-sound patience. Arising from hearing
