These have been explained in detail in the section on the discipline of the body, so they are not explained again. Furthermore, with what kind of verbal discipline does a Bodhisattva avoid killing, taking what is not given, engaging in improper conduct, speaking falsely, divisive speech, harsh speech, and frivolous speech, not speaking, not slandering parents and teachers for things that should not be said, not slandering the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and abandoning any other harmful speech, not focusing on or clinging to those words, not being arrogant, not looking down, not being attached, but treating them like rocks, illusions, mirages, eye diseases, and magic, because they know that they have no substance, so they will not cling to them. Because they do not discriminate, they do not cling, therefore it is called discipline. A Bodhisattva whose conduct is completely pure is not afraid of all the evil paths, which is the same as what was said before. These meanings are expressed in verses, which are easy to understand, so they are not explained further. The definition of Dharma is discrimination, the discipline of language is that all the Buddha's words are pure. The nature of Samadhi is said to be the object of Samadhi. Because it is expressed in words, it is vast. The explanation of the fortieth chapter on the discipline of language ends here. After the discipline of language, in order to show the discipline of the mind, it is said: Young man, therefore one should restrain oneself with the discipline of the mind, and so on. With what kind of mental discipline does a Bodhisattva attain fearlessness towards the Dharmas of the Buddhas, meaning that being free from all fears is the nature of the Dharmakaya. Dharma is the Dharma that has the nature of the Buddha. Attaining means manifesting. Attaining an unperturbed mind and liberation means that it cannot be moved by afflictions, demons, and discriminations, so it is liberation, which means attaining the ultimate of abandoning all afflictions, which is called the discipline of the mind.

Like the distinction of burning. The samadhi called this will be attained, burning is the collection of emanated rays. Obtaining the collection of burning that appears to be different from what kind of samadhi. Some treatises say that light will be obtained, which is because it arises from the cause of samadhi, so samadhi itself is nominally established with the name of light. The perfect tone of voice with sixty branches will be obtained, this has been declared. With what kind of restraint of mind, the Bodhisattva will obtain correct speech, that is, speech that is worthy of being heard. Called the restraint of mind, this should all be connected. Starting from the thirty-two marks, until wanting to benefit, and obtaining entry into behavior and conduct, this has been briefly explained, so it should not be repeated. Furthermore, starting from the name youth etc.
