There is no decline (of merit). There is no unequal abiding (in samadhi). There are no various thoughts. There is no equanimity without universal consideration. There is no decline of intention. There is no decline of diligence. There is no decline of mindfulness. There is no decline of samadhi. There is no decline of wisdom. There is no decline of liberation. All actions of the body are preceded by wisdom and followed by wisdom. All actions of speech are preceded by wisdom and followed by wisdom. All actions of mind are preceded by wisdom and followed by wisdom. For the past time, the wisdom of unobstructed and unattached appearance enters; for the future time, the wisdom of unobstructed and unattached appearance enters; for the present time, the wisdom of unobstructed and unattached appearance enters. This is called the "discipline of the youthful body." That is to say, in all times and places, the body possessing the nature of Dharma should be regarded as the discipline of the body. Emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, these three doors of liberation are the discipline of the body. Great love, great compassion, great joy, and great equanimity are the discipline of the body. Dharma, meaning, definitive words, and the four kinds of individual correct understanding of eloquence are the discipline of the body. The four close placements of mindfulness: namely, the close placements of mindfulness of body, feeling, mind, and Dharma. The four right abandonments: namely, abandoning sins that have been committed, not committing sins that have not been committed, increasing virtuous deeds that have been committed, and generating the intention to commit virtuous deeds that have not been committed, and so on. Intention, diligence, mind, and examination, these four are the feet of miraculous power. And faith, diligence, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom, these five are called the five faculties. Furthermore, when they become endowed with power, they are the five powers. Right mindfulness enlightenment factor, right discrimination of Dharma enlightenment factor, right diligence enlightenment factor, right joy enlightenment factor, right tranquility enlightenment factor, samadhi

And the limb of perfect enlightenment, equanimity, the limb of perfect enlightenment, that is, the seven limbs of enlightenment, and the eight noble path limbs, namely, right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration, are the discipline of the body. The statement "is the discipline of the body" shows the discipline of the body in the ultimate sense. Now, the discipline of the body in the conventional sense will be explained. With what discipline of the body will the Bodhisattva abandon killing, etc., and guard the ten virtuous paths of action, and completely abandon the ten non-virtuous paths of action, is the discipline of the body. Furthermore, in order to show the distinctions of non-virtue, taking the statement "cheating on the scales" as an example, cheating on the scales means raising or lowering the scale. Cheating on measures means raising or lowering the peck, bushel, etc. Cheating on wealth means making counterfeit gold, etc. Being bound by a mind aroused by desire, hatred, and delusion means being bound by chains, etc. Grasping means putting in a place of bondage and then grasping. Beating means with sticks, etc. Threatening means like "do this, if you don't, I will kill you and your relatives," etc., thereby attempting to flee. Cutting off means cutting off hands, feet, ears, noses, etc. Stabbing means stabbing with a spear. Suppressing with hatred means being unable to tolerate others doing harm. Turning away from these actions is the discipline of the body. The same meaning is also shown by statements such as "not waving hands and feet." Both explanations are the discipline of the body. In order to show that the Tathagatas of the past also said this, taking the statement "young man, in the past, in the past" as an example, the door to entering the Samadhi of the discipline of the body is correctly and completely shown by the rhythm of verses, that is, the sky like space is pure, and the body of the nature of Dharma is extremely pure, naturally luminous.
