This is what the Bhagavan has definitely taught. What kind of non-arising is it? It is said that "the person has no birth and death," and so on. The person, that is, the self, has no birth and death. Likewise, this dharma, that is, others, is also always from the beginning, that is, everything is originally solitary and peaceful, which is called the dharma of non-arising. Having definitely realized the nature of such a dharma, the king attained forbearance of the dharma of non-arising. Having attained forbearance of the dharma of non-arising, he completely renounced the kingdom and became a renunciate in the teachings of the Tathagata. The son and other retinues including the son also followed him and became renunciates because they desired the dharma. It is said that "two hundred years are fully completed," etc., which definitely shows the full display of the dharma and the time of hearing. It is said that "then the time also changed," etc., which means that the Tathagata also passed away into nirvana, and the Shravakas also passed away into nirvana, so his dharma became weak, and those who uphold it also became few. At that time, the son of that king, the prince, was very delighted with the teachings of the Tathagata, and there was a monk who always came to his palace, and he fully revealed this samadhi, and completely explained it. He was also pleasing, very gentle, and spoke sweetly. A god who had a connection in the past always praised him. He also, because he had memory, intelligence, realization, and perfect teachings, with words that made all sentient beings happy, was skilled in explaining the aggregates, elements, sources, and dependent origination, possessed many dharma robes, bowls, medicine for diseases, and implements, had fame, and had light, this light pervaded all directions, so that monk's name was called Pleasant Light. Other monks could not bear the power of his merit, and the sharp arrows of jealousy pierced the hearts of those who had discriminating views, so the first mind of anger arose. That monk also had merit, wisdom, and discipline.

And, having surpassed all the worlds by the power of samadhi, captivating the eyes of all the worlds, when other monks knew that the monk preacher who was making offerings had developed a malicious mind, in order to protect the preacher, armor and chainmail were well distributed, and the men holding various weapons were ordered to surround him, and free from doubt and fear, he extensively taught the Dharma of emptiness, signlessness, and ultimate nirvana. Those who have objective views do not like to teach emptiness. The monks came with weapons in their hands. And so on. Teaching the Dharma that is in accordance with oneself, in order to kill this enemy, holding various weapons in their hands, they stood up with their connected arms. This monk extensively teaches non-Dharma. And so on. This monk teaches inverted Dharma that does not accord with our wishes, if we kill him, merit will increase greatly, and it will not bring us non-merit, having thought so definitely, they began to beat him. Having seen this, the monk was not afraid of weapons. And so on. Seeing those who were striking with various weapons, he had no fear of death, and without any fear, he remembered emptiness, and who is killed, who kills, and with what is killed, those emptinesses cannot be killed by emptiness, because there is no death, who will die? Thinking so definitely, he prostrated to all the Tathagatas and began to compose the blessing of truth. By the truth that all dharmas are emptiness, and by this word of truth, may these weapons become Mandarava flowers, as soon as he said this, a rare and wonderful sign appeared, and those weapons also became Mandarava flowers. The great earth with mountains and forests also shook. Those monks holding weapons, also with minds of fear and dread, could not approach him again. Who has faith in the Sage. And so on.

Sāpala. Those beings who have faith in emptiness have faith and reverence for the Sage of the Śākyas. They recite Alala a thousand times, and so on. Alala means that because of condemning the sinful, the behavior of the sinful monk is condemned; because of generating joy for the speaker of the Dharma, it is recited a thousand times. The monk is visibly covered with a hundred pieces of patched cloth. This means that in order to clearly show that the Dharma-speaking monk is good by nature and possesses great compassion, these words are spoken in front of all the world. Any sentient beings who hate me, and so on. This means that those who are consumed by hatred with the intention of killing me will certainly go to Avīci hell, so in order to seize them, I should practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva; others are not able to seize them. After saying this, that monk explained the treasury of emptiness spoken by the Blessed One for eighty years. Those monks who became hateful were defeated and were condemned and despised by all the world. Even though that monk was struck and reviled by others with harsh words like weapons, the radiance of the lotus on his face did not change because of the power of habituating himself to patience, even towards those sinful monks. Then, the king's son Sonam Lodrö (Merit Intelligence) said this to that monk: I asked that teacher, who has done what unpleasant thing to you that has harmed your mind? Because of the power of habituating himself to patience, great compassion is very firm in his mind, and he has been habituated to it for a long time, so there is no harm caused by anger and conflict. He who, when practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva for hundreds of thousands of eons, is the monk named Nyanpai Ö (Glorious Light), who has made himself of the nature of well-cultivated patience, is the Blessed One Śākyamuni. He who is the king's son Sonam Lodrö (Merit Intelligence) who protects the Dharma-speaking monk Nyanpai Ö (Glorious Light).
