It is called being skilled in distinctions. Being skilled in determining the Dharma means that the knowledge that completely ascertains all Dharmas as being inexpressible and of the nature of being unborn from the beginning is called being skilled in determining the Dharma. Knowing the distinctions of the words of the Dharma means knowing the establishments of the aggregates, elements, sense bases, dependent origination, the miraculous feet, faculties, powers, limbs of enlightenment, and so forth, which is called knowing the distinctions of the words of the Dharma. Being skilled in definitely stating the words of the Dharma means that the abiding of the words of all Dharmas is the distinction of suchness, and the knowledge that clearly shows the distinctions of the sixteen emptinesses and so forth is called being skilled in definitely stating the words of the Dharma. The knowledge of being skilled in stating the distinctions of the words of meaning and non-meaning means that meaning is Dharma, and non-meaning is non-Dharma. For both meaning and non-meaning, there is neither addition nor subtraction, and there is no separate addition in the equality of Dharma-nature, which is the complete knowledge of all Dharmas, and the place without distinction is the suchness of all Dharmas being non-dual. Being skilled in this is clarity, and knowing the part to be taken and abandoned is called the knowledge of being skilled in meaning and non-meaning. Knowing the former limit means that the former limit is the cause and the action. The latter limit is the action, which is the result. The cause is the mind of enlightenment, which is the action of all the Buddha's Dharmas. The result is the state of being a Hearer, a Solitary Buddha, and a Perfectly Complete Buddha. Knowing its own nature as it is is knowing the former limit. Knowing the latter limit means knowing that in dependent origination there is no nature of the former limit and no nature of the latter limit, which is called knowing the latter limit. Knowing the equality of the three times means that not fixating on the objects of the past, future, and present, and knowing that all Dharmas are of one characteristic in equality, is called knowing the equality of the three times. Knowing the complete purity of the three spheres means not following after the action, the agent, and the object.
