It is to be manifestly diligent in meditation. To uphold the Dharma completely is to directly realize the nature of Dharma. To enter the Dharma that is in accordance with the Dharma is to be diligent and endowed with the worship of the Buddhas. Thus, having entered well, one should be diligent in three places. What are the three? The so-called "this is" is a word of close indication. The exhaustion of afflictions is to abandon and exhaust all sins, done and undone. Having become empowered by merit, one should enter through the power of merit. Desiring the wisdom of the Buddhas, one should not touch the happiness of the world, which is to generate the roots of virtue and so forth that are free from attachment. In order to clearly show those meanings, in order to tame the beings to be tamed with the melody of verses of previous practice, (it says) "How did I practice in a thousand kalpas?" and so on. The so-called "listen" is to make one listen attentively. When searching for this samadhi, I previously made offerings to hundreds of thousands of Buddhas in many thousands of kalpas. When kalpas, as numerous as immeasurable collections of dust in Buddha-fields, had passed, there appeared a Tathagata named Lord of Assemblies. The Sangha of monks of that Tathagata numbered sixty kotis of thousands. At that time, this great earth also became happy and endowed with qualities such as good harvests. All the sentient beings dwelling therein also became happy. He (the Buddha) was good at the asceticism of trees and had few afflictions. The saying "He" is that although he was endowed with all happiness, he was also freed from afflictions by the power of the Lord of the Tathagatas and adorned with the qualities of morality and so forth. "From that time I was born" and so on, means that from that time there was a son of the king of the great sovereign, named Excellent Flower. He also had five hundred sons, with good forms and pleasing to behold, adorned with all the marks of a man. Then, that king offered hundreds of thousands of pleasure gardens with various flowers and fruits to that Tathagata for enjoyment and complete use.

Year. Various kinds of clothes were also laid out in places for walking, etc. That prince, being perfectly endowed with the path of the ten virtuous actions, offered flowers, incense, lamps, fragrances, perfumes, powders, Dharma robes, umbrellas, banners, and various kinds of flags, as well as various kinds of musical instruments, to the Blessed One. He then joined his palms and sat respectfully in front of him. Then the monks and gods, etc., wondered what would be taught. Thinking that the profound Dharma would be taught, they rejoiced. Knowing the unsurpassed excellent intention of that earth lord, he taught this Samadhi of the equality of the nature of all Dharmas, free from elaborations. By the blessing of teaching the Dharma, this great earth shook in six ways. From the center of the sky, a rain of various pleasing flowers fell. From this great earth, many special lotuses of various precious natures arose. Then, understanding the essence of his particularly excellent intention, he prophesied him to attain unsurpassed perfect complete enlightenment. The Blessed One also spoke of this Samadhi. To separate the words of that meaning, that is, the difference between meaning and words, please listen to those meaning words. And so on, the meaning is the ultimate truth. The word is the ultimate state, to show the non-abiding Nirvana, it was said: All conditioned phenomena are unconditioned, the imputed is like life and mirage. All conditioned phenomena, that is, the conditioned phenomena that will arise. Those will not arise because they have not arisen. There is no arising from self, other, both, and without cause. Relying on this, there is no arising by the nature of imputation. What is imputed is also the aspect of the grasper and the grasped. The Sautrantikas and Yogacharas say that there is the arising of ultimate truth by the nature of dependence. Wanting to understand this meaning is that, by the nature of pervasive imputation, all Dharmas have not arisen. Relying on dependence, the conceptual thoughts of people.

Kye! If someone says, "It is said like this," it is because there are sutras that prove that there is no other-origination. That is, in the holy *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra*, it says, "Considering the characteristic of no self-nature, the origination of no self-nature, and the ultimate no self-nature, I said that all dharmas are without self-nature, unborn, unceasing, primordially peaceful, and all dharmas are naturally in nirvāṇa." What is the characteristic of no self-nature of all dharmas? It is the characteristic of what is imputed. Why is that? Because the characteristic that is established by names and concepts is not its own characteristic, but because the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, etc., are conditioned and unconditioned, and because self-characteristics and general characteristics are empty, it is called the characteristic of no self-nature. Among them, the origination of no self-nature of all dharmas is the characteristic of other-dependence of all dharmas. Why is that? Because it arises from other conditions, not from its own essence. That which does not have its own essence is unborn. Unborn is without its own essence, so it is called the origination of no self-nature. What is the ultimate no self-nature? It is the perfected characteristic of all dharmas, which is called the ultimate no self-nature. Why is that? Because the selflessness of all dharmas is the ultimate. Its no self-nature is called the ultimate no self-nature. For example, like space, it is the characteristic of no self-nature. Like an illusion, it is the very origination of no self-nature. Just as space is only empty of all forms and pervades everywhere, so too should the ultimate no self-nature be viewed, because dharmas are thoroughly pervaded by selflessness and pervade everywhere. It is not just said so by scripture alone, but it should also be proven by reason how there is no origination. Listen, all you who listen and follow wisdom!
