Having thought, why did you say that? It is because the afflictions to be abandoned by meditation have been abandoned, that is, because the co-emergent view of the perishable aggregate has been abandoned. Asked: Have you subdued the demons? Replied: Because the demon of the aggregates is not apprehended. Asked: Based on what thought did you say that? This is to abandon suffering. The so-called non-apprehension of the demon of the aggregates is because its future arising is not apprehended. Therefore, it should be understood that all demons are subdued, because if the aggregates do not exist, no other demons will arise from them. Asked: Have you served the teacher? Replied: Not with the body, not with speech, not with the mind. Asked: Based on what thought did you say that? This is doing for the teacher. It is not serving through the body and so on, but serving him by realizing Nirvana. Asked: Have you purified the field of giving? Replied: There is no grasping and no accumulation. Asked: Based on what thought did you say that? This is a response to the benefactor. No grasping and no accumulation means being free from the faults of view and abiding, which is in order. Asked: Have you crossed over samsara? Replied: Because there is no annihilation and no permanence. Asked: Based on what thought did you say that? This refers to completely transcending the ground of non-Aryas. No annihilation means that samsara has not been diminished. No permanence means that Nirvana exists. These show that there is no decrease and no increase. Asked: Have you entered the place of giving? Replied: Because you are completely liberated from all grasping. Asked: Based on what thought did you say that? This refers to abiding in the ground of the Aryas. The so-called complete liberation from all grasping means merely being free from grasping at non-existent things, not having abandoned them. Asked: Where do the long-lived ones go? Replied: Where do the emanations of the Tathagatas go? Asked: Based on what thought did you say that? This refers to becoming the common ground of liberation, the Tathagatas and

Undoubtedly, this shows the state of the common liberation of the Dharma that is in accordance with it. Or, sons of good family, those whose minds are completely liberated by the true command, in whatever way they communicate commands and instructions, it should be understood that the language spoken in a veiled manner by those endowed with life is of great significance in communicating commands and instructions through language. What is meant by speaking in a veiled manner? It is the wisdom of the nature of non-duality, which encompasses and pervades all veiled language. What is the nature of non-duality? It is that whatever is the object of language, that thing itself is without self-nature, and the object of consciousness that is completely designated by language is existent by nature, and that is non-duality. To be attached to that non-duality is complete affliction. To be unattached to non-duality is complete purification. Whatever is the object of language in all expressions is also the object of consciousness that is completely designated by the thing of convention, because it is existent by nature, therefore it is non-dual. To be attached to that non-duality is complete affliction. The absence of attachment to non-duality is complete purification. Therefore, that is the nature of non-duality. It should be understood that this pervades all the veiled language of the Tathagatas. Furthermore, it should be understood that the five perfections of the teacher, and the five perfections of the fruit indicated by the teacher's teachings, and the five excellent qualities of the fruit, are spoken in veiled language. What are the five perfections of the teacher? They are: why the teacher teaches, who the teacher is, what is taught, how to teach, and to whom to teach. Because of these perfections, the teacher should be understood as perfect. Why does he teach? He teaches in order to make Nirvana manifest. Then, the venerable Subhuti said to those monks: Venerable ones, where are you going? Where did you come from? They said: Venerable Subhuti, the Dharma taught by the Blessed One is that there is nowhere to go and nowhere to come from.
