That which abides supremely in the realm beyond, having abandoned attachment and being liberated from the bonds of things, and not being complacent with virtue, therefore never clinging to these here. Bound and unattached, without pretense. This means that by abandoning attachment to things, one is liberated from the bonds of things, but not liberated from things themselves. Not being bound is called liberation, for example, "Monk, abandon whatever attachment you have to the eye. If you abandon it, that eye will be abandoned," as it is said. "Without pretense" means not being attached to gain and respect, thus showing non-attachment to external things. The sixth is that the complete upholding of samadhi is purity. By upholding the samadhi that possesses purity, there is a mind without attachment to names and forms. This means that by upholding the samadhi that is without impurity, that is a mind that is equally placed and extremely tamed, having attained the samadhi of the fundamental dhyana, therefore it is called equally placed. By upholding the samadhi that transcends the world, there is no grasping of self or what belongs to self. This means that the seventh is that conduct is completely pure, not being arrogant with merely upholding the vows of individual liberation. Not being arrogant about studying individual liberation. This means that not being content with just that, therefore one will not become attached to it here. Where one seeks the paths of the noble ones, that is the sign of completely pure discipline. This is said. The eighth is that learning is completely pure, not being content with just discipline and samadhi. Discipline is not the main thing, and there is no attachment to that samadhi. This means that not being content with just worldly wisdom, merely realizing it, attaining the wisdom without an object. Above that, one completely seeks the cultivation of wisdom, the objectless is the lineage of the noble ones, that discipline is highly praised by the Sugatas. This is said. The ninth is purity from the path of no more learning, being liberated from the view of the perishable aggregates on the path of seeing. A mind liberated from the view of the perishable aggregates. This is said, on the path of cultivation

Being completely liberated from the pride of "I am," therefore, here it does not become "I" and "mine." Thus it is said. After that, by the wisdom obtained from (discipline), due to faith in the profound realm of the Tathagata, emptiness, one has more faith in the realm of the Buddha. His discipline is incomparable. Thus it is said. From the tenth (bhumi), the wisdom of the Tathagata is completely pure, the Bodhisattva abides in discipline, and by meditating on the samadhi of the Great Vehicle, one also obtains samadhi by abiding in discipline. Thus it is said. Abiding in samadhi, meditate on wisdom. Having obtained samadhi through meditation, meditate very diligently on wisdom. Thus it is said. Abiding in the meditation on profound wisdom, having obtained the omniscient wisdom, through wisdom one obtains completely pure wisdom. Thus it is said. Like this, because discipline is perfect, wisdom is completely pure, therefore it is said that discipline is perfect. Furthermore, destroying harm is completely pure, the three trainings are completely pure, the path of application is completely pure, the path of seeing is completely pure, the path of meditation is completely pure, the ultimate path is completely pure, the three vows are completely pure. Therefore, other teachers say that one should arrange the body with these verses, and the meaning of these verses is spoken in this way. Then, the Blessed One said to the venerable Subhuti: Subhuti, go and understand those monks. Subhuti replied: Blessed One, even if you yourself were to explain to them, they would not agree, let alone me? Regarding this matter, the Blessed One said to Subhuti, this is to show that the ability of the Tathagatas to tame is superior to that of the Shravakas. From here onwards, it should be understood as establishing the vows of appearance and ultimate meaning. Then, the Blessed One at that time, on the path where those monks had left, manifested two monks, which shows the method of taming of the Tathagata. Manifestation is fully shown in two ways, universally showing that signs and faith are consistent, in order to gather those monks and give teachings.
