It shows the state of non-existence. By abiding in discipline, one also attains samadhi. Having attained all the samadhis, one should diligently cultivate wisdom. Through wisdom, one obtains pure wisdom. Through pure wisdom, discipline is perfected. This tenth verse, it should be understood that its beginning and end are based on purity. Among them, by abiding in discipline, one also attains samadhi. Having attained all the samadhis, one should diligently cultivate wisdom. This sentence shows that obtaining the discipline pleasing to the noble ones is to show obtaining the pure discipline. Through wisdom, one obtains pure wisdom. Through pure wisdom, discipline is perfected. This sentence shows that when obtaining the discipline pleasing to the noble ones, it ultimately shows the purity of discipline. When this verse of manifestation is spoken, eight hundred monks, without taking anything, their minds are completely liberated from all defilements. Thirty-two thousand beings, in all dharmas, obtain the pure Dharma eye, free from dust and without stain. Thus, after this instruction is shown to be of decisive great meaning, now, in order to obtain those who are not learners and those who are learners, it shows the great meaning of the fruits of all disciplines. Five hundred monks who had attained meditation arose from their seats and left, which shows that the difficulty of discipline is of great meaning. They do not enter into this profound Dharma teaching, they do not understand and do not believe, they do not enter in two ways: if they do not understand, then they do not believe in the Dharma with faith; if they do not believe, then they do not understand the meaning with wisdom. Then, the venerable Mahakashyapa said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, these five hundred monks who have attained meditation do not enter into this Dharma teaching, they do not understand and do not believe, so they arise from their seats and leave." The Blessed One said: "Kashyapa, thus, these monks with pride of attainment do not enter into this pure, undefiled discipline, they do not understand and do not believe." Kashyapa, the so-called profound manifestation of the verse is that its meaning is difficult to understand. The so-called profound enlightenment of the Tathagata Bhagavan is that its intention is difficult to understand. The roots of virtue have not been cultivated.

Being completely controlled by sinful friends, and many unbelievers being unable to believe, this should be understood as being completely controlled by sinful friends, and many unbelievers not creating roots of virtue. The five hundred monks of Light Protector, after hearing the scriptures of the Tathagata Light Protector, became Hearers of other heretics. They heard a single teaching with the thought of surpassing the Tathagata Light Protector. After hearing it, they generated a single thought of faith, thinking: 'The gentle and pleasant words spoken by the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened Buddha Light Protector are truly wonderful!' Having generated a single thought of faith, with this mind, at the time of death, they were born into the midst of the Thirty-Three Gods. Due to this very cause, they have renounced in my teaching here. These five hundred monks of Light Protector, who are attached to views, do not enter this profound teaching, do not understand, and do not believe. Moreover, these individuals, having been completely subdued by this teaching, will not fall into evil destinies in the future, and with this very body, they will completely be liberated from samsara. The teacher, the Lord of Dharma, begins to explain the meaning of the verses, expressing it with other terms. The meaning of the preceding verses is manifested by the subsequent verses, which is called the guide manifesting through verses. Among them, the first verse is to completely and purely show the training in higher morality, for the sake of abandoning faults together with their basis. 'The one with morality has no stains, and nothing at all.' What does this mean? Stains are faults, and 'nothing at all' refers to the root of faults. 'The one with morality has no pride, no dependence.' This refers to completely and purely showing the training in higher mind, by abandoning the tasting of flavors together with its basis. Pride refers to the four prides, and dependence refers to the tasting of flavors. 'The one with morality has no darkness, no bonds.' This refers to completely and purely showing the training in higher wisdom, by abandoning karma and afflictions together with their basis. Darkness refers to the nature of ignorance, and bonds refer to karma, which is the root. The one with morality has no dust.
