It should be understood to begin with the common teachings. Among them, the basis is discipline, because starting from discipline, one can protect discipline through separate observation. The goal is to obtain hearing, because yoga is accomplished by relying on hearing, that is, grasping hearing through separate observation. The place is to dwell in a solitary place, because it is in accordance with yoga, that is, to dwell in a solitary place through separate observation. The dharmas that are in accordance with yoga are having few desires and knowing the rituals, and complete solitude. Entering with wrong thoughts should be understood as a desire for wisdom. The reason for saying this is to get as close as possible to others, not to make people feel bored, not to get rid of desire, not to stop, not to calm down, not to perfect Bodhi, not for practice, not for Brahmacharya, and not for Nirvana. Among them, by calming it down, it shows weariness and detachment from desire. How to understand it? Therefore, in order to calm the desire corresponding to the unfavorable side. By perfecting Bodhi to stop. By perfecting Bodhi, the path and the fruit of the path, including monks, Brahmacharya, and Nirvana, are shown. The fourth person is the perfection of both perfections, which should be understood as nine types: continuous diligence perfection, hearing perfection, desire perfection, proper attention perfection, correct view perfection, complete understanding perfection, abandonment perfection, meditation perfection, and manifestation perfection. The so-called "not even considering the body and life" means not considering the body and life, which should be understood as continuous diligence perfection. First, if you are happy to hear the teachings of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, and you do the same, it means that you are happy to hear emptiness, etc., which is the perfection of hearing, the second type. There is no greed for Nirvana either.

If one practices, there is no need to mention being delighted in the three realms. If one does not even want the view of emptiness, then, because "all dharmas should also be abandoned," that is its fruit and its branch. There is no attachment to nirvana, and one does not want the view of emptiness. It is complete attachment, this is the third. One should follow the meaning, not follow the words. Liberation from afflictions should be sought within oneself, not running outwards. The so-called following the meaning is following the worldly mind. Liberation from meditation is sought within oneself, properly attending to it, which is complete, this is the fourth. Seeing all dharmas as completely pure, naturally without any afflictions, oneself is an island, not another island. The so-called not following one's own discriminating mind, seeing that the supramundane dharma is naturally not all afflictions, is complete right view, this is the fifth. If one does not even regard the Tathagata as the nature of dharma, not to mention many gatherings, this is with supramundane wisdom, not discriminating the three jewels of ultimate truth. Not seeing the three jewels is complete perfect knowledge, this is the sixth. Not creating any dharma to be abandoned is the complete abandonment of abandoning what should be abandoned, this is the seventh. Not meditating for the sake of meditating is the complete meditation of meditating on what should be meditated on, this is the eighth. One is not born in samsara, nor delighted in nirvana, does not observe liberation, nor is bound, knowing that all dharmas are naturally nirvana, therefore one does not revolve in samsara, nor completely transcends nirvana. The cause of samsara is abandonment, nirvana is attainment. One is not born in samsara, nor delighted in complete nirvana. Not being delighted in death and life, therefore one does not observe liberation, nor is bound. Because afflictions have been abandoned, and because of the remaining aggregates.

Never revolves, and completely does not enter Nirvana. What is called naturally completely entering Nirvana should be understood here as knowing exhaustion and non-arising, etc., the non-learning dharmas. This is the ninth, the perfection of direct realization. Because the three Shramanas all universally show that the meaning of the name Shramana is meaningless and inappropriate, therefore, it is harmed by name, and it is shown by the metaphor of a poor person. How is it harmed by name? Because with the name of Shramana, they wrongly enjoy the offerings given by faith. From here onwards, in order to fully understand the invertedness of those Shramanas who do not practice truthfully, and those Shramanas who practice truthfully but arise with pride in knowledge and discipline, metaphors and those who possess discipline are also shown. With the wisdom of hearing and thinking, starting from their pride, the second metaphor is: Light Protector, for example, if a person is carried away by the water of the ocean and dies of thirst, similarly, Light Protector, some Shramanas and Brahmins learn many Dharmas, and although they fully understand them, they cannot eliminate the craving of desire, they cannot eliminate the craving of hatred, they cannot eliminate the craving of ignorance, those people are carried away by the ocean of Dharma, but die of the thirst of afflictions, and will fall into evil destinies. Therefore, this metaphor shows that pride arises from the knowledge of hearing. Light Protector, for example, a doctor carrying a medicine bag, wandering in all directions, but is struck by a disease and cannot cure that disease, similarly, Light Protector, observing the disease of afflictions of hearing many things, if one cannot use what one has heard to cure one's own disease of afflictions, then one's hearing is meaningless. This refers to the wisdom of thinking. Ordinary people experience the taste of samadhi free from desire, and those who have attained the state of learning, and attachment to reverence, and wrongly applying the wisdom of meditation with faulty regret, or correctly applying it, all start from the arising of pride, the remaining four metaphors
