Those who abide in discipline will be born in noble realms. There, they will also be seduced by the five objects of desire. Having died and transmigrated from there, they will not be completely liberated from the four lower realms, namely, hell beings, animals, the realm of Yama, and asuras. Therefore, the ultimate result of being born in a noble realm is falling into lower realms. It should be understood that clinging to desire leads to the dark side. It should be understood that clinging to views leads to the bright side, because it is for the sake of revealing the selflessness of persons. Therefore, they will individually contemplate, who is scolding, angry, beating, threatening, slandering, or revealing faults? Light Protector, therefore, it is not like a dog chasing a stone. Conversely, it should be understood that both the bright and dark sides are established. Therefore, by striving in practice, the mind that has not been calmed should be calmed. The mind that has been calmed should be liberated. Therefore, the example of a skilled horse trainer illustrates that the uncalmed mind is the method for calming the mind, that is, to show how to subdue the mind that is disturbed by the characteristics of calm abiding, etc., through intensely clinging to calm abiding and the afflictions of equanimity. The two examples of a hidden disease and a bound person illustrate that the calmed mind is the method for liberation, that is, to fully demonstrate the method for abandoning the afflictions to be abandoned through seeing and meditation. In the meantime, what obstructs the realization of truth is understanding the view of the aggregates and attachment to meditative absorption as a hidden disease and a binding. Therefore, even at the time of realizing the truth, the view of the aggregates obstructs the life of transcendent wisdom, therefore, the view of the aggregates should be understood as a hidden disease. Therefore, striving is for the sake of abandoning the dharma that is incompatible with it, thereby showing the side of virtue and the two states from starting to abide in a place until the complete formation of the sky, namely, seeking speech that is far from the world, holding a begging bowl, and remaining clothes. These two dharmas bind in two ways.

Becoming bonds of views, bonds of attainment, and bonds of reverence, in that order. The two bonds are the two things that, by clinging to unarisen virtuous dharmas, create obstacles, namely, relying on the household side and thinking of harming the noble side. In order to completely degenerate virtuous dharmas and make them impure, two impurities are created, namely, not forgetting afflictions and completely holding onto friendly households and food-giving households. In order to cut off virtuous dharmas from the root, two things that cause hail to fall are done, namely, abandoning the holy Dharma and, even if discipline is broken, fully using what is given with faith. In order to ensure that in this life there is no chance of turning back to it, two wounds are made, namely, individually examining the faults of others and concealing one's own faults. In order to make this life abide in suffering, two completely burning things are done, namely, cherishing defiled thoughts and possessing those who should be venerated by those who have discipline and qualities, so that there is no chance of being born in the future, two incurable diseases are made, namely, definitely thinking in the mind with manifest pride and turning away the faith of sentient beings who have correctly entered the Great Vehicle. The bodhisattva's instructions, if connected elsewhere by making the Hearer's training the authority, this is what should be known. O Light Protector, do not wander about completely seeking within. O Light Protector, in the future there will be monks who are like dogs chasing stones. O Light Protector, how is a monk similar to a dog chasing stones? O Light Protector, it is like this: for example, a dog is afraid of a stone, and chases after the stone, but does not chase after the one who threw the stone. O Light Protector, likewise, here some monks and Brahmins, fearing and being afraid of forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and touches, abide in solitary places, and they abide there alone, without a second, in extreme solitude, but when forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and touches to which they are attached appear, they leave them alone, and are endowed with delighting in pleasure.
