Following through reliance means that it is shown as the object of the cause of the wisdom of hearing, that is, relying on the scriptures and universally relying on them. Following through meditation means the wisdom of thinking, that is, following through meditation. Following through doing much means the wisdom of meditation, because one constantly meditates without distraction, therefore doing much. Following through proper attention means that it is shown to follow through by combining these wisdoms without error. Without manifest effort means the distinction of spontaneous accomplishment. By continuously and respectfully practicing for a long time, accumulating immeasurable collections of merit and wisdom, by the power of a perfect and workable samadhi, being free from faults such as dullness and excitement, and in order to engage in the union of calm abiding and insight. When the path of engaging without manifest effort arises correctly, then it means that one touches the realm of non-discrimination by spontaneous accomplishment, because it is manifested directly. After entering the first ground, one purifies the grounds above it. Alternatively, the words "following through reliance" and so on indicate the combination of meditation, small, medium, great, and the most excellent of the great. Like the places and order of the four parts of the decisive division. Why and so on, is the nature of the realm of non-discrimination, indicating the ninth meaning of the summary. Completely transcending all discriminations of investigation means this. Because it cannot be investigated by all of one's own discriminations. Therefore, it is formless. Transcending all discriminations of teaching and example means that it is impossible to point out to others, "This is like this." Therefore, it is unteachable. Completely transcending all discriminations of the senses means that it is completely transcending the nature of all discriminations as the nature of the internal sense bases such as the eye sense. Therefore, it does not rely on any internal sense base, so it is without support. Object

The reason for calling it "far beyond all discriminations" is that it transcends the very nature of all discriminations as the characteristic of external sense bases such as form. Therefore, it does not appear as an object like form, so it is without appearance. The reason for calling it "far beyond all discriminations of consciousness" is that it transcends the very nature of all discriminations as the characteristic of consciousness such as the eye. Therefore, it is not consciousness, because it is not their nature. The reason for calling it "without a place for all afflictions and obscurations of knowledge" is that the element of phenomena, which is naturally luminous, has no basis as the support for all adventitious afflictions and obscurations of afflictions, so it is without a place. Therefore, there is no place in this, because it has no place for all obscurations. Therefore, since it is far beyond the discrimination of all its phenomena, it is called non-discrimination. The term "what" refers to the thought of questioning "what," thinking in this way: If it is far beyond the discrimination of all phenomena, then how can it be called its characteristic? In response to this, it is said "formless" and so on, which is its characteristic. The meaning is that whatever is far beyond the discrimination of all phenomena, that is its characteristic. Whatever the essence of anything is, that very form is called its characteristic. Therefore, that which is far beyond the characteristic of all phenomena is its characteristic. Speaking of it is only conventional truth, but not in reality, because it itself is far beyond all. If it becomes the object of expression, then it becomes conventional truth, but it will not become ultimate truth. It is also said in the Noble Two Truths Sutra: Son of the gods, if the ultimate truth becomes an object of body, speech, and mind, then it will not be counted as the ultimate truth, but will become conventional truth. Son of the gods, likewise, in the ultimate truth, the ultimate truth is far beyond all expressions, it is without distinction, unborn, unceasing.
