It is said that: Feeling ashamed by looking at others, wanting to be praised by looking at oneself, and having no regrets in one's heart, these three disciplines are different. The beginning, absorption, blessing, rising, teaching, and exhortation of the first ground, know that these are also the same for the second ground and so on. Like this, the beginning is the place and those to be tamed, and for the sake of explaining these, other places and those to be tamed are not without. For the sake of explaining these, other Vajra heart absorptions are also not absorptions. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also do not bless. Without absorption, how can there be rising? The teaching of these is also just explaining the meaning with names. For the sake of explaining these grounds, the liberation moon and so on will also not exhort. These two, the explanation and difference of the second ground, should be spoken. In terms of explanation, it is said to have realization and so on. Among them, the purity that arises is the purity of the cause, and those are also the ten thoughts of the mind. The so-called action without separate examination is for the sake of practicing the precepts and so on according to the Dharma, for the sake of accomplishing according to the Dharma, for the sake of teaching. If the precepts and so on are accomplished, when greed and so on harm, the power of wisdom that separately examines overwhelms those, because it is not teaching, it is said that there is no action of separate examination, meaning that the self-nature precepts enter one's own precepts. Why do Bodhisattvas have three kinds of precepts? Because it is necessary to know that the Bodhisattva's precepts are superior to the precepts of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, these three precepts are briefly explained. The perfection of discipline is: The Bodhisattva's compassion makes the Bodhi path superior. The first is the discipline of abandoning, the second is the discipline of accumulating virtues, and the third is the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. Meaning

The three mothers are practice. In this, the first is the cause of truly receiving, the second is making the other shore of virtue, the third is the continuum of sentient beings, and it is truly said to make the other shore. How is it? Because of the perfection of action and intention, and because of the decline of unfavorable factors, whatever is the nature of discipline, now it is the nature of the path of action. Among them, summarizing with the ten paths of virtuous action, two perfections with four aspects are shown, namely the perfection of action and the perfection of intention. Among them, the perfection of action is of two kinds, namely the action of happiness and the action of benefit. Among them, from abandoning killing to abandoning harsh words, know that it is the action of happiness. Abandoning frivolous words is the action of benefit. The perfection of intention is also of two kinds, namely the intention of happiness and the intention of benefit. Among them, non-greed and non-harm are the intentions of happiness. Right view is the intention of benefit. The summary of this meaning is: whatever benefits when it happens now is happiness, and whatever benefits the next life is benefit, so it is just the action of happiness and the action of benefit, the intention of happiness and the intention of benefit. Thus, know that from the perfection of action and intention, and with good discernment, the ten paths of virtuous action can be established. What is meant by "because of the decline of unfavorable factors"? A Bodhisattva who vows to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings must completely know two dharmas and then abandon them, namely whatever harms sentient beings and whatever hinders the benefit of sentient beings. Among them, there are seven kinds of harm, namely harming life, harming enjoyment, harming wives, harming true meaning, harming friends, harming fame, and harming activities. Among them, from killing is harming life to frivolous words is harming activities. Benefit is the Bodhisattva's giving. Giving is also of three kinds:

The giving of material things, the giving of fearlessness, and the giving of Dharma. Greed is an obstacle to the giving of material things. Harmful intent is an obstacle to the giving of fearlessness. Wrong view is an obstacle to the giving of Dharma. To counteract these disharmonies, the paths of the ten virtuous actions are explained in detail. How are they explained? Starting from "O sons of the royal lineage," up to "having a firm conviction in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha." In order to show the attainment of special abandonment, it means that in order to show the attainment of a more excellent abandonment than the abandonment of the previous grounds, this is the concluding word. The object of harm is a stick, that is, what is called abandoning the stick. Mentioning the stick is to indicate it as an example, but hammers and so on are also objects of harm. The object of cutting is a weapon, that is, what is called abandoning weapons, because weapons can cut. Here, too, weapons are mentioned as an example, but axes and so on are also objects of cutting. From the point of view of being the cause of arising, it is said to abandon holding grudges. It is distinguished by two words. What is the desire for enjoyment? It refers to entering the battlefield. Entering the battlefield is equivalent to promising suffering such as hell in future lives, therefore it is completely abandoning oneself, so it is said to have a sense of shame. Desiring the limbs, skin, etc. of living beings, for example, for that purpose, even if it is not a great person, slightly hitting them, those who seek profit, clearly delight in killing them, this is what is called entering compassion. Temporarily giving benefit and love, and bringing lasting happiness, is to allow them to correctly receive the seeds of heaven and liberation. The mind of loving-kindness is to wish that those beings obtain whatever is the result of the cause of happiness and the cause of nirvana. Regarding the phrase "to all living beings," here, mentioning living beings is to show that beings are not permanent.
