When arising and generating the mind, the ten perfections of a Bodhisattva can be truly accomplished, and will be truly accomplished, because it is said so in the scriptures. The so-called "doing what one can" means being in accordance with one's own ability. The so-called "acting appropriately" means being in accordance with the basis of others. The rest is as previously stated. The so-called "mostly completely purified" is because the behavior is stable and occupies the majority. The so-called "completely purified" is because it abandons defilements such as laziness. The so-called "being able to be competent" is because it has obtained the ability to benefit sentient beings. The wisdom obtained from that, both worldly and transcendental, is said to be worldly because it has flaws; it is said to be transcendental because others do not have it. Alternatively, this refers to the second ground, so it is said to be worldly; transcendental refers to the nature of the second ground and so on. Regarding this, being skilled in examination means being skilled in destroying and accomplishing opposing factors and antidotes. How to understand it? One should be skilled in understanding opposing factors and antidotes, because the scriptures say to be skilled in understanding the destruction and accomplishment of the ground. Being skilled in obtaining means entering the method of entering, and being skilled in understanding its differences, that is, being skilled in understanding the characteristics and similarities of the ground, being skilled in distinguishing the obtained land, being skilled in completely practicing the limbs of the ground, this is said in order. Being skilled in increasing means transferring the land to other places, and being skilled in dwelling and increasing, that is, being skilled in jumping from one land to another, being skilled in dwelling on the land, being skilled in understanding the differences of the land, this is said in order. Being skilled in completely not regressing means being skilled in non-regression, that is, being skilled in not regressing after obtaining the land, because it is said so in the scriptures. Being skilled in reaching the ultimate means the ultimate of the Bodhisattva ground, and then being skilled in entering the Tathagata ground, that is, after all the grounds of the Bodhisattva have been completely practiced, being skilled in suppressing the ground of the Tathagata's wisdom, because it is said so in the scriptures. Thus, the so-called being skilled in manifesting the aspects of the Bodhisattva ground is as it is said.

In the manner of explanation, what was previously said in various ways is to accomplish the ground; the five kinds of wise ones just explained are said to be wise in accomplishing the limbs with faith and so on. The remainder is shown by example, and is explained in detail in the sutra itself. O sons of the Victorious Ones, like this, for example, from "like this" onwards, up to "without moving upwards from the first intermediate place on the path," this is the wise one who does not err. From "with the mind that analyzes in such a way, knowing that" onwards, up to "arriving at the great city," this is the wise one who is skilled in pointing out. "The faults of the wild solitary places will not harm me and the guides," this is the fruit of both wise ones. From the very beginning, from "the qualities of the ground path" onwards, up to "he does not move from the first intermediate place on the path," this is the bodhisattva's wise one who does not err. From "with the mind that analyzes in such a way with wisdom" onwards, up to "liberated," and up to "making it reach the great city of omniscience itself," this is the wise one who is skilled in pointing out. "The faults of the wild solitary places of samsara will not harm the guides or myself of sentient beings," this is the fruit of those two wise ones. O sons of the Victorious Ones, therefore, bodhisattvas should not be completely discouraged, but should strive for the distinction of completely purifying the ground, and this should be known as being connected to the cause of that fruit. The bodhisattva's conduct, along with the order of nature, should be known as the perfections.

It is for the sake of making fools understand. "In the manner of being free from sins" means the same as "for the sake of being separated from sins." The five eyes are: Then there are the eyes of the noble and of wisdom, The divine eye and likewise the eye of flesh, Buddhahood too will be attained, And one will become equal to the Buddhas. This means that the meaning of this will be explained in the tenth bhumi. "The body of the cause and the characteristic of the result" is a synonym for "the nature of cause and result," because body and characteristic are expressions of nature. Just as the fruit of the ground of conduct by faith is the first ground, and the fruit of the first ground is the second ground, so the fruit of the tenth ground is Buddhahood, because it is produced from that cause. The noble Manjushri also said in the Sutra of the Summit of the Head: "The first arising of mind should be regarded as the cause related to conduct. Being related to conduct should be recognized as the cause of non-retrogression. Non-retrogression should be regarded as the cause of being bound by one birth. Being bound by one birth should be regarded as the cause of omniscience." Or, because the body of the cause is realized by the result, "the body of the cause and the characteristic of the result" is a synonym for "the nature of the cause is known by the result." The Buddha is only the result and not the cause, because there is no other ground higher than that, and because the ground of the Buddha does not have superior changes from higher to higher. Having purified the first ground, Seeing complete purity, One strives for the meaning of the second ground, One applies oneself diligently in order to attain it. The mind is extremely pure, When one applies oneself diligently in that way, At that time, the stain Of the lax discipline Is removed, and one obtains vastness. With a stainless mind, Obtaining the vast second ground, Relying on four qualities, One will obtain the nature of discipline. For the sake of completely purifying discipline, Qualities are considered to be four: Correctly avoiding harm from others, And the complete purity of mind, Restoring what has been lost, And respect for what has not been lost. The wise consider the actions of these qualities to be four
