It should be understood as the version that has been proofread. Some say that it is because (the content) was narrated from the very beginning. In terms of "increasing courage," this refers to the universal courage, which is the courage that distinguishes between one's own power and the power of others. In this way, the root of courage is both a limb and a near limb, because the latter is a classification of the former. Here, it refers to the courage of one's own power among the near limbs. Whatever becomes a limb is the basis of the other four types of courage as the entity of classification. Among them, the power of others can manifest through blessings, which is indicated by "through the power of the Buddha." The power of the Buddha is distinguished in the scriptures by other words, called "the blessing of the light of the Tathagata's wisdom." Through the blessing of the Tathagata, the Vajra Essence appears and is without darkness, fully manifests and all meanings are clear, therefore, in order to truly show the path to enlightenment and so on, it is blessed in such a way that it is shown without any inversion like the Buddha. Conditioned phenomena refer to the undefiled path to enlightenment and so on. Because its nature is non-attachment and so on, it is called the Dharma of the root of virtue. Those belonging to the Vajra Essence Tantra are said to be courageous because they are completely pure and thoroughly purified. In the case of the Buddha's blessing, only the courage of the power of others can be spoken of, because these conditioned phenomena are able to generate courage, and the Tathagata himself encourages the Vajra Essence with speech, causing it to increase, open, and expand. However, since courage arises there due to the increase in the power of beings belonging to one's own continuum, it is called the courage of one's own power. Furthermore, it is not that everything only speaks of the Tathagata's blessing, but to show that the power of one's own ability here is also like this. This is also pointed out in the scriptures: "Because one's own root of virtue is completely pure." Unconditioned phenomena refer to Suchness and the Dharmadhatu. When it is completely pure,

is completely purified. What is the confidence of its power? It is the confidence in the complete purity of unconditioned Dharma. Moreover, the Sutra also indicates it by other names, saying that it is for the complete subduing of the Dharmadhatu. The benefit of completely maturing sentient beings is the complete purity arising from that cause, and therefore there is confidence. Moreover, the Sutra also expresses it in its own words, saying that it is for the benefit of the sentient being realm. The Dharmakaya is the Dharmadhatu, and the so-called abandonment of mind, intellect, and consciousness is a distinction of it. Among them, the Alaya-vijñana is called mind because it accumulates and is perfumed by the seeds of all the habitually afflicted dharmas. The afflicted intellect is the nature of constantly clinging to the self and other four afflictions, so it is intellect. The eye consciousness and so on are consciousness because they clearly appear as forms and so on, so all six are consciousness, and those are abandoned. If so, how is it said? It is declared that the Vajra-garbha has all three of these perfections, and perfection is the supreme self of the Bodhisattva. Among them, when its Suchness is completely transformed on the tenth bhumi, then those knowledges because there is no reason to establish names such as mind, they are not called those, but are called names such as mirror-like wisdom. Therefore, it is said that mind, intellect, and consciousness are abandoned. What is the place of mere wisdom like? Because it is free from the defilement of the two graspers, it is the place of mere pure wisdom. Is this not the Dharmata? If asked whether this is the place of these, it is because those are completely distinguished by it. For example, from other aspects, the first is the place of the two, and thus it is declared that this nature of complete purity of Suchness is the place of enjoyment body and manifestation body. Therefore, because it is the cause of undefiled dharmas, it is called Dharmadhatu. This perfection of the Bodhisattva is also said in the Sutra: The Dharmakaya is for the sake of the wisdom body.
