This shows the distinction of the merit of overpowering with power. The field of activity is the object, such as form, etc. The object itself is the cause of confusing the mind, therefore, it is called a demon because it obstructs virtue. For the Bhagavan, even a very pleasing object cannot cause an obstacle. Those who have completely perfected the birthplaces that overpower with power, overpower (the demons), because the field of activity cannot seize (them), so they are called not being seized by the field of activity. This (merit) called "inconceivable establishment" shows the distinction of the merit of establishing the Dharma, because it establishes what is far beyond the field of activity of conceptual thought. This (merit) called "perfected equality in the three times" is the distinction of the merit of prophesying time, because there is no obstacle to prophesying the present, past, and future times. This (merit) called "having a body that enters all realms of the world" shows the distinction of the merit of universally showing the departure from the Tushita heaven, because it simultaneously pervades all realms of the four continents with emanated bodies. This (merit) called "having unimpeded knowledge of all dharmas" shows the distinction of the merit of cutting off all aspects of doubt, because it has attained the wisdom that completely eliminates doubt about all dharmas. This (merit) called "having intelligence that is endowed with all conduct" shows the distinction of the merit of universally showing a body that is similar to those who are to be tamed by all vehicles, because it is completely quick to the conduct of all sentient beings, and likewise, it also universally shows the body. This (merit) called "having no slowness in knowing the Dharma" shows the distinction of the merit of giving advice appropriately with very definite wisdom, because having slowness towards the dharmas means that one cannot give advice appropriately. Whoever understands this Dharma and whose understanding of it is very certain can truly explain the teachings, but others cannot. This (merit) called "having a non-discriminating body" is uni-

The distinction of the qualities of possessing a body completely free from afflictions is shown: Because the body is not deluded by conceptualization, it does not possess afflictions, as well as the all-encompassing afflictions of karma and birth. Therefore, it possesses a body that has not been conceptualized by all afflictions. The one called "all Bodhisattvas perfectly take wisdom" shows the distinction of the qualities of combining the Buddha's lineage without interruption: Bodhisattvas combine for the sake of the Buddha's lineage not being interrupted, not for others. Therefore, only they perfectly take wisdom. The one called "the Buddha's non-dual state, the supreme perfection" shows the distinction of the qualities of abiding in the Buddha's nature body: Because the characteristic of the Tathagata's Dharma body is not different. The Buddha's non-dual state is the Dharma body, which is suchness, because its characteristic is non-different, it causes all dualistic conceptualizations to arise without exception; because it always abides in the samadhi that focuses on it, and because it is the perfection of it. The one called "the Tathagata's unmixed liberation-making wisdom gone to the other shore" shows the distinction of the qualities of the Tathagata abiding in the enjoyment body: Through the gate of individual continuums, with the enjoyment body, the unmixed Tathagatas, because of the wisdom that liberates all sentient beings, that wisdom has reached the other shore. The Buddha's enjoyment body is in the pure Buddha fields, in the mandalas of the retinues, the wisdom made by the Bodhisattvas individually experiencing the enjoyment of the Dharma, that is why it is said to have reached the other shore. The one called "the Buddha without beginning or end understands equality" shows the distinction of the qualities of the essence: The one without beginning or end is the Tathagata, who is the essence of completely abandoning the extremes of conditioned and unconditioned.
