The detailed description of "will not completely eliminate" indicates that although the mere temporary pacification of suffering will give rise to the idea of happiness, it also shows that this is merely an approximate speculation of happiness. It is not even the idea of happiness, because other feelings do not completely eliminate other happy feelings. Here, it is only the temporary pacification of suffering that gives rise to the idea of happiness. If it were not so, then most people would not strive to seek delicious food and drink. Even with just ordinary rice, unhusked rice, mud, grass roots, and water, the temporary pacification of the suffering of hunger and thirst is inevitable. When enjoying delicious food and drink, there is a feeling of happiness. The detailed description of "when freed from hunger and thirst" also shows that the mere temporary pacification of suffering is happiness, which clearly shows pride. The so-called "difference between a delicious taste, or a fragrant smell to the nose, other substances being very delicious, or very, very delicious" refers to the delicious taste arising from the difference between a delicious substance being very delicious and very, very delicious, and thinking it is very, very delicious. Just as from the difference between a fragrant substance being very delicious and very, very delicious, there arises a fragrant smell, and thinking it is very delicious and smells very, very delicious. The same is true for "the ears also hear various pleasant and melodious sounds," what other suffering is temporarily pacified? The reason for listening to various melodious sounds is that they are both melodious sounds and various sounds, so they are melodious and various sounds. Pleasant and melodious sounds are pleasant and melodious sounds. Hearing those pleasant and melodious sounds generates a special idea of happiness. It is not just the temporary pacification of other suffering, but also in this Sutra Pitaka it is said, "What is feeling? There are three feelings." The so-called "through reasoning" means that through reasoning such as the existence of the cause of happiness, it can be proven that there are three feelings. Here also are "the two, cause and effect." It is described in detail that other causes
